Way back in the day, (when I was 13 years old), my friends and I used to go to The Starlite Diner every Saturday night, and it was amazing.\r Fast forward 7 years, and I've moved into a house 1/2 a mile away and I'm working late nights. I was so happy to have a restaurant open 24 hours, so close to my house. Unfortunately when they changed from Starlite Diner to Moonlite Diner, they must have fired the chef. Because, over the course of the 6 years that I lived so close to Moonlite, I tried most of their menu, and every single time I fell for it again, I was disappointed, yet again.\r In Short: the food was typically gross.\r They're also no longer open 24 hours. So you can't get your bad food around the clock anymore either. more

My better half and I tried this place for the first time tonight. He got the bleu cheese burger, I got the veggie burger, and we both got sweet potato fries. The food was decent enough, but the server gave us all of 60 seconds after bringing our drinks to decide what we wanted, seemed disgruntled when we asked for a little more time, and while we ate, she didn't check in on us, check if we needed more to drink, and just breezed by with our check when we were about halfway done with our meals without even bothering to ask if we wanted anything else. We had considered trying a dessert, but were fairly put off by how she was intent on rushing us out of the door. I don't really get it. We were extremely polite and pleasant with her and didn't make a difficult order. I've been a server in the past, so we always make sure to be polite to restaurant staff and leave a generous tip when we get good service. I left a little less that 15% regardless of how weirded-out and put off we were, but the combo of mediocre food and bad service skills has pretty much ensured that we probably won't be returning. more

Good food, good prices, 24-7. Nice cushioned seats, you're never too close to the next table as they are all big booths that sit 6. We never has to wait to be seated, very friendly service, great spot for a hearty breakfast or a nice burger and shake late at night. They never disappointed us. more

I've been there only twice, once for breakfast once for lunch. Breakfast was fine but they use cheap eggs so they smell a bit. I cannot say my lunch expirience was the same it happened many years ago so I don't remember details but I stilll don't want to try it again... more

Always packed at lunch time. Food is greasy and salads are not that fresh. The only good thing there is the shake. To make things worse, the parking lot is a nightmare during lunch hours. Pros: milk shakes are good Cons: greasy, food not really fresh, bread is not real bread more

We go to Hollywood every 5 to 6 weeks, and we always stop at the Moonlite diner for lunch on the way down, The service is a little slow, but the food is good. The club sandwichs r great, cheesburgers are large, plenty of fries, and the strawberry milkshakes r excellent they beat Steat and Shake hands down. more
