Monterey's Tex Mex No 526

I love Mexican restaurants!!! When I have moved to a new locations, that is one of the first businesses I seek out!!! Tulsa does have a large selection of Mexican restaurants, where you can find authentic Mexican, Tex-Mex, or just a poor attempt at Mexican food! Monterey's is one of those that specializes in Tex-Mex. With three locations in Tulsa, they still stay extremely busy. I think the main reason for their popularity is definitely the awesome food they serve. The have a great selection of menu items, with something for almost anyone. The food is always fresh and tasty, and it is just such a fun environment! Montery's is more laid back than a lot of places. They don't really take reservations, but you can let them know ahead of time if you have an especially large party coming in. Great for lunch, where you need something quick, but still want it to be delicious, they are also known for a fabulous, relaxed dinner. They offer a small selection of drinks, but a huge selection of wonderful entrees to satisfy you. Their atmosphere really makes it a perfect place for a family meal (with kids), or even a romantic date. Prices are great and food is awesome! Be sure to try their Queso dip... it's the best around! more

When I'm in the mood for Mexican, I usually first think of Abuelo's and On The Border. I don't know why I don't think of Monterey's more. The food is very good, and the price is great. It has a fun atmosphere and a friendly wait staff. Actually, their enchiladas may be the best thing on the menu... you have to try those! It IS a little greasy... if you're on a diet, you'll find more healthy options at Abuelo's. But you'll also pay twice the price. Monterey's is a good family place, has a great attitude towards being kid-friendly. I wouldn't recomend it as a date place though, just because it's noisy. Anyway, now I'm getting hungry... I might have to go there tonight!!! more

Monterey's Tex Mex is one of my all time favorite restaurants. They serve wondeful food, something for everyone! They don't cater to one particular crowd. It's great for parties, dates, or a family meal. Not only do they have fantastic food, they also have wonderful, fast service. From appetizers to dessert, they definitely have a tasty selection, and their prices are good as well. more
