I went to Monkey Jungle as a child in the 70's and have wonderful memories of the place and the monkeys. So wonderful that I decided to take my own children there last year...and ...

Great fun for any animal lover 3/23/2011

Good: We loved it!!!!! Back to back presentations, delivered by enthusiastic and knowledgeable employees, can be like a guided tour and are highly informative. Make sure you check the schedule when you arrive. The monkeys know that humans = food, so you will see many eager and active animals along the way. Buying a box of "monkey food" (raisins, dried cranberries, etc), though, is definitely worthwhile because you will get to see their fun antics as they are fed!. Bad: The price was a little steep (almost $70 for two people), and the drive is a good 40-50 minutes from Miami Beach.. Improvements: Multi-ticket discount.. Other: It could be very hot in the summer, so you may want to consider going in the spring or fall. We went on a weekday in the spring and had the whole place almost to ourselves!. more

Amazing!!!!!! 2/27/2011

Over the years I had driven past the Monkey Jungle signs many times, and it had always peaked my curiosity. Little did I know how Amazing this place really is. Not only is this place Extremely well kept, but also beautiful. Now there are a couple of options, and the one we chose was a bit pricey, but no more than a night out, and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You get to actually hang out with the Monkeys. They crawl all over you as they chase each other in play, and grab your tasty treats along the way. Yes, they are a bit smelly, but no more than your cat or dog if they ran around in the sunshine all day. Our guide was amazing, and truely cared, not some part time college student jonesing for thier next txt, but real trained people, who live the life with the animals. The pathway was clean and comfortable to walk on, the cages were constantly being cleaned, and the Gorilla (King), (A Circus Rescue) was so amazing and funny, you would have thought it was a person in a costume. The birds (All rescues as well) were beautiful, as were the balance of the Monkeys. Hands down, this was one of the most amazing things we (My Fiance') and I have ever done!!! more

Great Place For kids 8/3/2005

Where Humans are Caged and the Monkeys Run Wild" Yes, it's true. As you walk around the tropical gardens, monkeys run over your head, separated by metal "cages" that protect you from bites, but not errant droppings. Despite the occasional encounter with monkey scat, this is a fun place to visit. There are 30 species of primates represented at Monkey Jungle, and you'll see them eating, sleeping and getting down! In addition to the monkeys, there's an aviary with beautiful birds who are more than willing to poop on you in case the monkeys didn't. more
