Amherst's only Chinese Market 8/21/2005

Mom's house is the closest, maybe even the one and only, Asian food and products' market around the town of Amherst. It is located on Route 9, just a couple minutes from downtown Amherst. They offer dry foods, frozen seafoods, and also fast food that you can go in and grab for lunch and etc. more

New Take Out Option... 8/14/2005

This is a small market offering tons of Asian products. We have been happily purchasing their homemade dumplings for quite some time. They now offer some very inexpensive take out options as well. The selection is some what limited. Don’t go too late their take out service is only available until 7:30pm. more

Chinese grocery and takeout 8/12/2005

This store has just about everything you would want to find at an Asian market - a hundred varieties of ramen, condiments, snacks, frozen foods. I like the frozen dumplings that they sell. They also have a small amount of produce, but it's hit-or-miss with those. The greens always look nice, but I've never gotten lucky with tomatoes or fruits. Like I said, it just depends on if you're there at the right time. Speaking of which, they also offer takeout. $5.50 combination meal gets you rice or lo mein, three entree choices, plus soup. It's a TON of food, enough to feed two. This too is hit or miss. You might get there and the food has been out for a while, or you might catch them as they're putting in new trays and it's piping hot. If you get the latter, the taste is pretty good. Not as good as, say, Amherst Chinese, but definitely better than stuff you'd get at the mall or in a food court. more
