Run Spot, run!! 8/24/2018

Find a dog-sitter on Craig's List instead of this place. Here's the short version: 1. I only got a fraction of my dog's food back and then blamed for bringing in my own food. It is basic knowledge not to drastically alter a dogs diet. Why weren't we told in the first place? Or why didn't they send it back when the dogs were dropped off? 2. I was misled about being reimbursed for the dog food they spilled. 3. I was promised the dogs would be housed together. They were not. Here's the long version: My husband dropped off my two dogs for their first stay. He took 2 types of food. One bag of Stella and Chewy's, and a 5.5 lb bag of Ziwi. Both foods are expensive, totaling just over $100. When I picked up the dogs, I had to ask for the remaining food. At first, they couldn't find it. Then, they explained the dogs ate all of the food. (The idea that both dogs under 20lbs ate 6lbs of food over 2 nights is laughable.) In my conversation with a manager (John), I learned the staff had somehow spilled the food. Both bags. However, John agreed this was unacceptable and offered to reimburse me for the lost food, which would total about $80, by sending us a check. Fast forward a week, I had to call twice to speak with yet another manager, Ann. She promised to return my call, but did not. Ann informed me that I should not have brought food in because they supply food for the stay. She said my dog kept knocking over the bowl, and the staff kept refilling it (this is the 3rd iteration of what happened). I asked about the credit for food and she refused. more

DANGEROUS KENNEL 3/14/2010

I have seen this place in detail. The number one rule is to TOUR the kennel, NEVER go someplace that doesn't let you see them and the dogs (not a 12x12 window in a door). During busy seasons they house dogs in plastic kennels in their laundry room. Like others have said, some do not get food or water. The food they get may not be the food they're telling you. Some of their staff is abusive - even a couple managers. My neighbors boarded their eight year old healthy Lab there who DIED. Their 'explaination' is that the dog was just old. At eight years old, that's the best they could come up with. I know countless other stories of dogs being seriously injured (including things like rusty wiring cutting the dog, dog bites, even a broken leg) and in most cases management did not call or EVEN take the dog to see a vet. They lie about their credentials, knowledge, certification, that sort of thing. more
