Beautiful hotel! 4/3/2006

I've stayed at the Mohegan Sun hotel many times and I've always been really impressed. It's been rated five stars by AAA and it really is worthy of that recognition. The rooms are big and clean, the staff is very hospitable and everything is very accessible. You might expect an expensive price tag for a room like this, but if you join their Player's Club (free), you'll be eligible to receive a room on most nights for $99. more

Meh 2/10/2006

Gambling's not my thing, so I won't discuss that part of MoSun. My gripes with it are essentially the extraordinary prices for food that is at best above average, and the smell -- Gott in Himmel, the smell! It's a highly unpleasant blend of stale cigarette smoke and incense. Though mostly heavy on the incense, unless you just walked through someone's exhalations, then it's heavy on the smoke. Don't get me wrong -- I'm all for businesses permitting smoking in their establishments if they want to. However, I don't have to like it. more

great Place to have fun 12/8/2005

Mohegan Sun has everything there to have fun. Not only is there gambling, but great restaurants, fantastic shops and stores, a place to bring the kids to play video games for prizes, see free shows, a cabaret, an arena for great big shows, the Wolf Den for free shows on the gaming floor. The staff is nice, and it's more of a laid back casino. Great decorations, and just so much to look at. I recommend a day trip or overnight stay in the beautiful hotel. more

If it's your cup of tea 8/20/2005

I concur with the other reviewer; do NOT bring children to this place unless it's solely for a performance or basketball game or whatnot in the arena. My biggest gripe is the smoke. I know, I know, that's what you get at a casino. But it's just brutal. There are no windows in the entire place, so you basically feel like you're in an undeground bunker, albeit a very colorfully decorated one. And everything in the place -- from the Krispy Kreme donuts on up -- costs a fortune. Not my favorite place. more

Fun for the whole family...not 8/16/2005

You're better off leaving the kids at home. There's too much to do and see here that they'll just get left behind. First off there's the gambling, al the traditional games, poker, black jack, slots, etc. Then there are the shops and restaurants everywhere. T Oh and did I mention the decor, just breathtaking. It's not the glittering lights of Vegas but stunning nonetheless. more
