Best

I recently visited one of my favorite reataurants in town to find the Menu had changed and there was booths! Pros: Food , Service, Atmosphere Cons: None Really

Worst

It's been a while since I was there last, but if memory serves, the food was the best thing Mirror had going for it. The atmosphere was pretty high on the old Poser Quotient, and...

the best!! 1/7/2007

Loved it from the moment we stepped in. Good service but most importantly EXCELLENT MENU AND TASTE!!! We really enjoyed our dinner and conversation. Very nice experience. Highly recommended. Pros: great food/great service/excellent value Cons: can't think of any more

Ultimately a great experience 11/12/2006

I had been wanting to eat at Mirror for sometime and my boyfriend surprised me one night with reservations on the patio. The patio is great and the food was good, only being surpassed by dessert and drinks. The first hour of our experience was horrible due to the negative, rude waiter we had on the patio. I love to sit outside whenever possible, but by the time we were ready for dessert my boyfriend suggested we take our dessert at the bar because we were so sick of the waiter. Thank goodness he was right, the dessert was fabulous and the bartender made our experience great. I would highly recommend the bar area here - it turned our night around. Were it not for that we probably would not have considered going back. Pros: Ambience, dessert, bartender Cons: Parking, service is unpredictable more

Sylishly Wonderful! 9/18/2006

Mirror offers a wonderful selection of tasty items. The drinks are outstanding, and the service is professional yet unassuming. Style over substance? Not at all. Yes, Mirror is stylish, but Mirror doesn't sacrifice yummy food for style. If you prefer pub grub where screaming kids abound, by all means, visit ""Crapplebee's"" next time. Most of the clientele would prefer that you skip Mirror since you're probably the type that smacks his/her lips & licks his/her fingers rather than wipe them. (By the way, I'm not from Nashville, but I try to eat at Mirror during every visit to Nashville.) Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Cocktails Cons: Overpriced Wine more

I'd rather eat at Crapplebees 9/14/2006

Even at Applebees the hostess walks you to your table. Not at Mirror. They giggle, talk to each other, then point you toward the general area where they want you to sit. The waiter was rude he acted like it put him out that a memeber of our party was late. The steak was like eating a shoe and way smaller than a deck of cards. The drinks were poorly made and didn't even taste good. Overall I think this place is highly overrated. Next time I want to throw my money away I'll go somewhere else. Oh and I wrote the management an email and they never apologized or responded. Nice customer service. Pros: Um...the mirrors on the walls were cool Cons: Bad food, bad staff and really bad times more

One of my favorites! 8/8/2006

I love this restaurant and visit often. It's got a great menu and usually don't make reservations. They offer a variety of tasty tapas, large plates and desserts. My absolute favorite is the warm goat cheese salad - divine! If I can make it to dessert - the banana bread pudding is fantastic. They also have a pretty good drink menu, ex. pineapple-infused tequila margarita. I do think the drink prices are a little on the high side and it would be nice if it was completely non-smoking (although if you don't sit right next to the bar you're usually ok). I agree with one of the other reviews - this is more of an adult scene as opposed to kid-friendly. Pros: Eclectic menu, fantastic desserts, great atmosphere Cons: Drink prices are a little high more

Great drinks crappy bartender 6/5/2006

The drinks are unique with a summer flare, the bartender is wierd and snooty, should be working in a bowling alley snack counter. The tapas are great but the menu is old and needs to be changed out, same menue for 3 years. Need more grilled fish specials, the desserts are the best in town..... drinks are great, different Pros: Tapas (cheap), drinks (great), Location Cons: parking, Bartender, Needs new menu more

yuck! 4/23/2006

This place is overpriced. The drinks, food, attitude all stinks. I would recommend Mafioaza's over this place anyday. more

A Restaurant at Ease with Itself 3/20/2006

Despite our nerdiness, we felt welcome at this trendy neighborhood restaurant where we enjoyed tapas, sherry and a variety of delicious appetizers. We recommend the white chocolate soup. However, hard walls, a small single room and limited privacy makes Mirror awkward for children. They should consider a 3 AM closing time and a seasonal outdoor bar. Pros: Tapas, Sherrys, Welcoming Cons: Child-unfriendly, Hours limited, lacking seafood more

Over rated! 8/31/2005

This restaraunt was crowded, lound and the food was boring. If you know anything about great cuisine this will not be the place for you. It looks okay on the menu and worse when you receive it. Also, the portions were minimal. more

All show 7/13/2005

An exercise in style over substance. Would some sort of meat on the menu be too much ask? Pros: Location, Patio Cons: Snooty, Overlit, Menu more

Worth everything 6/16/2005

I regularly drive an hour and a half just for the world's best warm goat chees salad. And the drinks are great. Pros: Great People, Great Place, Great Food more

Cheap and Chic Dining 4/21/2005

From the moment I walked into Mirror, I felt the restaurant's cool disco-meets-techno vibe, and I was ready for a good time. One of the specialty infused-vodka martinis is a sure-fire way to get the party started. Whether you want just a little nosh or a big dinner, the tapas menu has you covered. Each two-or-three bite item is priced between $2 and $4.25, so you can afford to create your own feast. The blue cheese polenta fries are Mirror's signature dish, but I crave the sweet and salty prosciutto-wrapped cipollini onions and the amazing homemade potato crisps with truffle oil. Be sure to order a flight of sherry (a bargain at $8 for four varieties) to sip while you enjoy the beautifully-presented tapas treats. For dessert, don't miss the opportunity to try the white chocolate soup, served in a mini tea kettle and poured over a fried chocolate truffle. Pros: Creative Tapas, Delicious Drinks, Affordable Prices more

fantastic every time! 9/1/2004

I absolutely love Mirror. The food is incredible, I highly recommend the blue cheese polenta fries and vegetarian tamales; they make a mean mojito; the desserts are definitely worth sacrificing the diet and the service is excellent...they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Pros: variety, excellent drinks, fantastic food more

Waited too long 5/17/2004

We kept forgetting about Mirror, and just tried it last week. Won't let that happen again --- I wanted the salad with asparagus, warm goat cheese cake and spring greens to never disappear. The salmon spring roll was excellent, and the fried truffle with white chocolate ""soup"" was a clever an well-executed mixture of flavors and textures. Pros: imaginative menu, good wine list, helpful waitstaff Cons: , not on my street! more

Blinding!! 3/2/2004

All I have to say is lights, lights, lights are too bright. Afterall, the name of the restaurant is""Mirror,"" which we all know mirrors reflect light. Turn them down, pretty please?!! You have such a beautiful dining room, which can only be enjoyed when the atmosphere feels initimate, not like you are dining with the enitire dining room. Love the food, love the place! Pros: Food, Bar, Atmosphere more

It was okay..... 2/16/2004

My husband and I went for Valentine's Day and I would say it was just...okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing was ""stand out"" either. The tapas were pretty good. The main entree's were okay. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very small and the tables are very close together, which I wouldn't have minded so much if the lighting had been a little lower and more romantic. Otherwise, it felt sort of like a group dinner. The best thing was my dessert. Get the White Chocolate Soup. Might go back just for dessert. The worst thing was the American Beauty Martini. Remember Grandma's Rose Perfume??? Imagine drinking it. more

!@#%$&^* 4/23/2003

Not an expletive, just a reaction all the different things that seem to be going on at Mirror. The food was good, the drinks were good, the service was friendly. I'm not dreaming about it, but would definitely go back. more

only the insecure are intimidated 2/25/2003

I am a big fan of this restaurant and not a painfully hip, martini type. I have only received the kindest and most personlized service possible. The other reviews seem to focus only on the food which is indeed inovative and flawless. In my experience bringing in many types of people to dine with me, the diners reap what they sow. Come in with your ugly, overpriced wardrobe and an attitude to match and expect competent, but occasionally surly service. Be yourself, don't cop an attitude and you should expect sincere, beyond-the-call-of-duty work and interaction from an entertaining, diverse waitstaff. Pros: individuality, neighborhood feel, world cuisine Cons: off the beaten path, no lunch seating, pricey more

I Crave Tapas!!! 2/20/2003

Mirror is a fantastic place to enjoy interesting food and well-prepared cocktails any night of the week. I've tried all of the tapas on several occasions and find them to be delicious and consistent. I also recommend the steamed mussels and goat cheese salad. And by all means, don't forget the cucumber martini! Pros: mussels, martinis, polenta fries Cons: Can be loud more

One Great Restaurant 1/29/2003

Loved it! Fantastic staff, great food, what a dining out experience should be. Pros: food more
