A Museum Just For Kids 11/30/2006

The Minnesota Children's Museum is a five-story indoor playground featuring dozens of activities and hands-on exhibits that allow kids to learn through play. Climbing a tree fort, crawling through a giant anthill, creating music and operating a crane are among the many adventures kids can experience. There is an area designed especially for infants and toddlers. Everything is fun and colorful, and a great place for kids to engage in creative expression. The building is large and spacious, allowing room to accommodate strollers and wheelchairs. A snack area is available, as well as a large parking ramp. more

Your kids will love it 4/16/2006

This is a wonderful place to bring your kids. I have been bringing my little one since he was 6 mos old. We have a membership and we go so often it more than pays for itself. There is a special area for small children (infants thru 2 yrs I think) called habitot. You can just watch the cogs turning as they learn, and it is so fun to interact with them in new ways. As they get older they play with other kids and you can interact or sit on a bench and supervise. more

Love It!!!!! 12/27/2005

Kids love it. The facility is good for all ages. It includes activities surrounding arts, music, physics, nature, and more. Multi-level parking is available for free of charge with the facility's stamp. Allow at least 2 to 3 hours for a visit as there is just so much to see and do you will not want to leave!! And it seems like everytime that we go there they have something new!! more

great entertainment in the twin cities 11/21/2005

this is a great place for children 1 year to about 10 years of age . a great value in price , they have discount days and family day and group discount . the change what they have their in themes , so there is always something new to see and explore , the have many rooms for different age children to see . the only bad part is the parking and getting there in down town st.paul more

Tons of fun for the whole family 11/9/2005

It is a good place to take younger kids up to about 9 or 10. The exhibits change regularly so it's never boring. It's great for winter days. And there are many ways to get discount tickets. Child care providers get free tickets. I don't think it is that expensive even with out. The only bad thing is that it is downtown St Paul. But other than that it's great. more

Great indoor activities! - Get a pass from the library! 9/24/2005

First of all, Dakota County Libraries and St Paul public libraries offer FREE PASSES to the Children's museum! They are passes good for 6 people that you CHECK OUT. (Anyone can get a library card). They have a limited number available, so call and if they have one, they will hold it for 2 hours for you. Best day is Monday or Tuesday to check and they are good for 7 days! You turn it in at the museum and they mail it back to the library! Now about the Children's museum! Aside from the cost (which now you don't have to worry about), it is a fabulous place to visit! They have tons of activities for the kids! They offer story times, activities, and they change their main areas periodically. There is a section on the top level that is mostly a play area for smaller children. You can easily spend several hours there without the kids getting bored! There are so many activities for them to do. It is good for kids of all ages. The only drawback is the location (downtown St Paul). They have a parking ramp, and museum guests can park for $1.00 for like 3 hours. (Make sure it hasn't changed before going). If you can get the free passes, it is definitely worth going! They also have a free family day once Sunday per month where admission is free. It gets pretty crowded, but hey, its free! more

A VERY fun hands-on place to play and learn 8/21/2005

We own a family membership to this children's museum, but there are free Sundays once a month. The only reason we prefer the membership is because it can get REALLY busy on those free Sundays. This is a very fun place for kids up to around ages 6-7 (although older kids could enjoy themselves for a little while if they are there with younger siblings). There are all kinds of activities and fun hands-on displays that change every so often. There is even a little room for toddlers to play in called Habitot. A definite must place to go for families with kids. more

Hours of fun 8/19/2005

The Children's Museum is a great place for kids of all ages, but seems best suited for those between ages 3 and 9. They do have one free day per month, but it is very crowded on those days. The admission fee is well worth having a bit more space in which to explore and play. High commendations to the staff. They are alert, and attuned to the children that are there. Recently, I watched a child who couldn't find her mom, and the child started to cry. I noticed that a conscientous staff member followed her until she was reunited with her mom. The wide range of exhibits keep children entertained for hours! Our favorite is Earth World, where one can crawl through ant hills, and hide in a wolf's den, make thunderstorms, and investigate a swamp. I would recommend wearing jeans or pants, however, to avoid rugburned knees in the ant hill... more

super fun place for kids 8/18/2005

Our kids LOVE the Children's museum and we do too. It keeps them busy for hours! It is always very clean and well staffed. The exhibits change often which keep the kids entertained. We love that there is so much hands on to help them learn. The annual membership is a great way to go. They even offer a certain day of the month that is free if the cost is too much for people. more

Children's Museum 8/17/2005

This is a great place for kids of all ages. It is a three level museum that offers themes that are changed often. There are a lot of hands on activeties to keep the kids busy. They even have story telling on certain days. Also there is a little area where the kids can dress up and pretend. Admission prices are pretty cheap. It has it's own parking ramp also. more

Terrific place for toddlers to elementary schoolers. 8/9/2005

Great place with hands on activities to keep kids engaged. They have some exhibits that change as well so there is something new every year. During the day they offer story tellers and other craft activities along with the other exhibits. They also have an outdoor exhibit with water and sand. Every third Sunday is free. more

Great for the whole family... 8/5/2005

The Minnesota Children's Museum is great fun for the whole family. The layout and space is excellent for exploring. The museum gets many different exhibits that keep you coming back. There is no worry when the children touch something, because that is what this museum is about. It is very hands on and every aspect of the museum is made to enhance the educational experience. Take the time and visit the museum...often. more

Perfect for long winters! 8/2/2005

The Children's museum is great for children from 18 months - 10 years of age. The museum has two exhibits that rotate and then several standing exhibits. Another great feature is that it offers a private nursing room if you require it. A year long membership is reasonable at $75 for a family and can give you a much needed place to go during the long winter months! Nothing is hands off here, your kids will find many activities and exhibits to enjoy as well as story time and art projects scheduled throughout the day. The museum also offers an indoor play area for children from 15 months to 4 years of age that is greaT! There are lots of activities to test their motor skills. Another favorite in our family is the giant ant colony where your children can dress up like an ant and crawl through! more

A Fun Museum for the Family 7/8/2005

What a great museum for the family. Along with its permanent exhibits there are exhibits that rotate periodically so the kids won't get bored with the same old stuff. Everything is hands on and there's a good mix of educational and fun. When the weather is nice you can go outside and enjoy the rooftop art studio. Throughout the day they also have story time, face painting, and other fun activities. Membership is a better way to go if you think you'll visit the museum more than a few times. more
