Dr Mingea saved my life and I am grateful for the professional services provided in the operating room.\r

I was ready to switch from my OB/GYN to Dr Mingea following the surgery. She was very caring when she called to check on me the day after my procedure. I genuinely felt like I was in good hands and I was relieved to have found a doctor who could be there to take care of my OB/GYN health.\r

However, on the day of my post-op visit, she was impersonal, in a hurry and quite frankly, rude. I had a lot of questions including birthcontrol (a fairly common question I would think). She literally shrugged her shoulders and suggested that I use what worked for me in the past. That answer may indeed have been the best medical advice - I'm not sure - but her shoulder shrug kept me from inquiring further. I have since found a wealth of information from another provider who was willing to discuss my options.\r

I really didn't know what to think after that initial post-op visit. I struggled with the decision to stay with my past OB/GYN or switch to Dr Mingea who just saved my life. Even an average visit would have been enough for me to switch. The only thing that made me feel a little better about the visit was when her nurse called to appologize. The interesting thing is that I didn't even complain - the appology was offered based on the nurse's perception of my experience. The appology would have held more weight if Dr. Mingea had called...but honestly, I don't think she really cared.\r

To top it all off, her billing department was unwilling to bill my secondary insurance company. The hospital, the anesthesiologist, and the emergency room all filed with both insurance companies. Dr. Mingea just expected me to file on my own. I guess it's easier that way.\r

So yes, I am jaded. And this prompted my decision to write this review. I paid in full and I'm filing with my insurance company directly. I'm going through the same steps her billing department would have to.\r

Needless to say, she is not my OB/GYN. She is capable, but not friendly.
