Always changing 4/20/2006

I love to go o the museum and so does my daughter. There is always a new exhibit and stuff is always changing. We went no too long ago and hey had the chocolate exhibit which was so neat! Not to mention the store of all different chocolates at the end of the exhibit. Prices are a bit on the high side for purchasing items but it is a great place to visit. more

Cool Place To Hang Out For A While 4/20/2006

On a rainy day museums are a cool place to hang out and learn something. Learn is not a four letter word. Learning is a good thing and you are never too old to learn or to have fun. I would rather expand my mind than my waistline. The IMAX theatre is located inside and I found out it's even better to see a film here than at Navy Pier's IMAX because the theatre is dome shaped. The museum has three floors, most of which I did not get to see, but I look forward to going back. I suggest you see the Lewis & Clark IMAX film here, it's aprox an 50 minutes long. more

Have you been to the museum lately? If you have not, GO!! Or if you are planning a trip to the Milwaukee area, by all means add this to your list of interesting places to go. Not only do they have a wonderful and large selection of art work for you to see, they also get in revolving art shows. Though there is a nominal charge to go and see the exihibits. Take a walk outside and enjoy the beautiful scenary of lake Michigan. Breath in the cool fresh air, plan a picnic too. It's a gorgeous part of town to be at. more

Fun Museum! 1/25/2006

If traveling ever takes you to Milwaukee (or if you live there) this is one museum to definately check out. I have been to many museums, but none like this! Three floors of amazing artifacts and exhibits. A history buff could literally spend a few days enjoying all this place has to offer. Also, they do offer an IMAX theater, but the theater is seriously scarey to sit in. The screen takes up the entire ceiling and front wall and it is on an angle which makes for a less than enjoyable movie. Other than that, the museum is a really neat place to go! more

I love the museum. 10/26/2005

It is true that some of the Milwaukee Public Museum is "outdated" but trust me, kids don't care. Not to mention that the museum is constantly adding new attraction every year or so as well as featuring traveling attractions from aroundthe world. The museum is always fun and it is extremely informative. A great place to take children where they can learn and have some great times. (P.S. - when near the Native American/ Buffalo hunting exhibit if you follow the wall around to your right while facing it there is a small button that makes the rattlesanke's tail move. Kids absolutely love it and think they're being let in on some big secret if you show them) more

A good place to visit, but definitely not up to par. 10/23/2005

I have to agree that this museum is a bit outdated. That wouldn't be a surprise given their financial problems of the past. But that doesn't mean it isn't a great place for family fun and learning, or even an outing with just the kids. There is still so much to be learned here. Just because it was all the same stuff from when I was a kid, doesn't mean the information being shared isn't valuable. It just isn't as exciting as some of the newer Museums across the US. Definitely try it out at least once. more

Outdated? This museum has everything. 9/24/2005

The Milwaukee Public museum is hailed as one of the ten best in the entire country and it's easy to see why. I've been goign there since I can remember and it has never failed to surprise me. Everytime I'm there I see something I hadn't seen before. It's huge, it has a great interactive discovery museum for kids, it has a complete replica of a downtown Milwaukee street from the 1800's, as well as my favorite, their awesome dinosaur exhibit. The museum also, a few times a year, has different special limited run special exhibits. These are typically well put together presentations that can teach your child something you didn't know... and probably even you. more

The Museum that is old enough to be in one. 8/15/2005

The Milwaukee Public Museum is a nice museum, but many of the exhibits are outdated as well as non interactive. Children will enjoy the kids part of the museum with all of the hands on things to do, but the rest of the museum is a walk though which makes it kind of dull. The special exhibits that come around do make it worth going to from time to time. more
