Sorta good 8/17/2011

Con: I used to be a regular here until they did away with the fresh cut fries, which are essential to any good burger experience. Frozen fries are so ersatz. Pro: The burger itself is decent. Messy like it should be. You can get whatever you want: grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, bacon, etc. The poppy seed bun is unique. Con: Mayo comes default instead of mustard, which is weak. This is Texas; real men eat mustard. Sometimes I accidentally forget to ask for mustard and end up with mayo, so then I have to either a) settle and eat it anyway if my lunch hour is limited, or b) hassle with asking them to change it. Pro: classic small-town, old-school atmosphere like an ice house. Bottled beer and sodas in tubs of ice. The Galaga arcade game is fun to play while waiting for my order. Pro: lady behind register was friendly. At busy lunch hour, the long line moved quickly, and the food came promptly. Pro: the fresh-brewed sweat tea is good. more

Great burger bad service 2/18/2011

We have lived in the neighborhood since 1998. About a year ago we(the 4 of us) decided to try Miller's Cafe and loved it. Unfortunetly after 3 or 4 times of eating there we noticed that the service was getting worse. The greetings were cold and very unfriendly especially by the short lady that usually takes the orders. The staff usually speaks a different language and yells frequently across the restaurant. The manager is an exception from the rest .Save yourself the rudeness and go down the street to 5 GUYS wear they also make a great burger. more

Juicy burgers? 11/18/2006

Recently, my brother and I were on our way to meet friends at a steakhouse on Bay Area but couldn't find it. Frustrated, I pulled into a strip center and walked inside to Miller's Cafe. As I asked the manager for directions, I couldn't notice what juicy, great looking burgers and fries being served! We found the steakhouse, but were sorry to pass this place up. more

Houston's best kept secret 12/14/2005

When one thinks of good hamburgers in Houston they might think of MytiBurger, and Miller's Cafe. Miller's is a family owned restaurant in a shopping center in Garden Oaks. The burgers are amazing, and large enough to split with another person. If you're looking for a good sports bar, or somewhere to ""catch the game"" then remember Miller's. On a given afternoon around lunchtime they have a line almost out the door. Come hungry. Also try the fries. more

I have worked in the Food Service Industry for 20 years and I believe Miller's is the Best Burger ""JOINT"" on the northside Don't expect express service during the week day lunch, this place ain't McDonalds, they have a crowd for a reason GOOD FOOD. But the short wait is well worth the product!!!!!!!!! more

Great Burger Neighborhood Atmosphere 1/12/2003

Margarito has been flipping burgers here for the fifteen years I've been going to this just north of the Heights location on Shepherd. A great burger served on a poppy seed bun with all the fixins. My wife likes the grilled onion version but I like my onions crispy and tangy. The onion rings are great. They make french fries out of whole sliced potatoes before your eyes, but they're not quite as crisp as I like them, my only complaint. more

Houston's Best Burger Joint 10/25/2002

Every Tuesday, I spend my day on Shepard Drive. There are quite a few restaurants sprinkled around the area, but the best is by far, Miller's Cafe. Arguably, they serve the best hamburgers in Houston. The food is always perfectly cooked, and juicy. The toppings leave nothing to be desired either. I love the atmosphere in Miller's. Tucked away in the middle of Houston, it's nice to find a back home place like Miller's. This a great place to eat. Pros: Food, Environment, Uncrowded more
