One of my favorite places. 4/26/2006

This has got to be one of the hidden gems in the fabric world. Their prices and selection - from the flashy costume section to the calicoes, cottons, batiks, and prints, to the great selection of linens, silks, and wools - are generally reasonable and fairly extensive. The staff is very helpful and polite, and rather than simply asking about your project because they want to sell you something *cough* Joann *cough* they really care what you are making, and work very well with those of us who like to be more authentic in our work. I can literally spend hours here, just browsing, and best of all, they don't really care if you do. more

Great Prices, Good Selection 4/10/2006

Mill End really has quite a selection of fabric. The Home Decor fabric section is huge and there are so many fabrics to inspire you. The prices are reasonable too. There is an ok selection of quilt fabric, but if you are looking for quilting fabric, I'd go to a specialized quilting store. There are lots of interesting notions including buttons. It's fun to just look around and see what they have. The inventory changes frequently. One day I bought some fabric for curtains. I came back 2 days later because I had run out, and they had completely sold out. I was bummed, but that's the way it goes sometimes. more

Huge selection, friendly staff 10/18/2005

The selection at this store is great, but limited to what is on hand. I often fall in love with something that doesn't have enough left on the spool to complete the project. Being that it is a mill end store, these are usually all there is and cannot be special ordered. However, that isn't always the case. The staff is always helpful and friendly. They have been able to offer tips and suggestions for my projects that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. more

Great selection, helpful staff 9/24/2005

If you are looking for fabric, this is the perfect place to head. The store is quite large and they have a great selection of all types of fabrics, including a pretty comprehensive selection of upholstery fabrics. Prices are very reasonable - I compared between here and other stores when looking for frabric and Mill End was nearly always the same or less than other places. It is well laid out and easy to find what you are looking for. The staff is friendly, willing to help and most of them are extremely knowledgeable about sewing and can give you tips and tricks as you select your fabric. more

good fabric selection 9/9/2005

This place is fabulose for thoes hard to find fabrics and other crafty things. People are are really nice and helpful. They really do have everything you need. One time I was looking for some fabric for a shirt I was making. I hit all the local fabric shops not finding anything I liked, and then someone told me about Mills End. I checked it out and they had exactly what I was looking for. more

SE Fabric Warehouse and Rug Center 8/20/2005

This warehouse is located on the Milwaukie expressway. You will find a large selection of fabrics of medium quality. They have a very nice selection of silks and bridal area. The staff is top notch and very helpful. They are open daily and weekends. There is a small sale area up front near the notions. In the back of the store a very large area of remnants. I did not find the remnants to my liking but I am looking for unique items. There is an area also in the back for rug sales. I saw "Persian like rugs" with a professional staff. There is also a very large and nice selection of home decor fabrics in the back of the store. more

Fabric store with great bargains 6/30/2005

MillsEnd is not as huge as Fabric Depot, but it does have several selling points. It features an even larger selection of upholstery fabrics, although it's hard to look through the stacks of bolts on top of each other. Also, they stock some beautiful silks. The big draw is the discounted flat-fold area where you can find quality fabric for only a couple dollars a yard. more
