I oh so loved this place. It was a very special place to me, my husband and I went every Valentines Day for 10 years to this place. Im not sure where to go now that could even remotely replace the wonderful atmosphere this place created. This place was huge part of my life. This my be cheesy but I feel like part of a tradition in my life has died. more

What happened???? 1/2/2009

I am so dissapointed. Milano's seems to be gone. They were AWESOME! I had hoped that they were movine to a better location, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Pros: The best Italian in the area. Cons: There gone :( more

best italian food, great chocolate martini, great service 4/2/2008

I love this place. Their chocoloate martini and chicken marsala with red potatoes is to die for. I have no idea how they make their pasta but by far the best i have ever had. I have become a regular here and even though it is a little pricy, the food is worth it. Excellent service and the ambience is great. Parking could be a problem sometimes but the taste of the food makes it all ok :) Pros: great food, great service Cons: parking, a little pricy more

Nice and quiet 4/30/2007

My husband and I have been here many times and enjoy the quiet atmosphere...we usually go mid afternoon and it isn't crowded, which we prefer. My favorite dish is Milano's Favorite...reminds me of Rattlesnake Pasta, which I love. Very friendly place with a very nice newly added bar/lounge. Someone said they gave scant servings...if this is true, why do I always leave so full???? Also, he mentioned their salad not being good...not true...it isn't fancy but always fresh. Also love the bread but would like the oil at lunch as well as dinner meal. Guess I could ask for it , huh? Compared to most of the restaurants here, it is definitely one of the very best. Pros: service is wonderful, excellent food, good choices in wine Cons: little too bright in daytime more

Great Atmosphere, Terrific Service, Wonderful Food 6/15/2006

I must say I have lived in Murfreesboro for quite some time and DID NOT KNOW about this great little find! I had several friends recommend that I have my fiancee's 40th Birthday party there. I was a bit nervous never having eaten there. WELL, I must say the Manager of this restaurant is wonderful and accommodating. His staff is professional and competent. We were setup for 20 guests, yet 35 arrived. NO PROBLEM! THey handled this with ease and grace. The appetizers were scrumptious from the Smoked Salmon to the Mushroom Al Forno and Mozzarello Al Limone. Then, came the entrees. WOW! And, with all of the commotion of the party, the waiters and waitresses seamlessly took care of everyone's needs with poise and grace. I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED and will return. My fiancee is well traveled and is from Europe and complains on occassion about restaurants, but I knew right away we were in for a good evening when he announced "This young man knows how to pour a glass of wine". Thumbs Up....! We will be back! Pros: Wonderful ambience. Professional and courteous se more

Great Lasagna and Chicken Marsala! 6/9/2006

I've been going to Milano's for about 7 years now, maybe not so much in the past couple of years since Murfreesboro has many more restaurants from which to choose now! Still, Milano's for lunch is a great experience for not a lot of bucks. The lasagna is best when you get there before, say 1:30. Fresh, lots of cheese, great seasonings, and plenty of sauce. Comes with a fresh salad with their trademark dressing and fresh-baked bread. Service has always been better than average. Terrific tiramisu and make sure you get some fresh-brewed coffee with it - very mellow! :) Another favorite of mine is the chicken marsala, but the fettucini alfredo with shrimp added and the pasta primavera are both good too! I'm not much for going out for dinner, as I'm kinda economy minded, but for lunch you can't beat the atmosphere, service, and value. You'll get out of there for well under $10. I happened to notice that the only positive review ONE of these guys left was for Fuddrucker's, which by the way, has closed in Murfreesboro. Everything else he didn't like is still perking right along .... hmmmm. ;) Enjoy! Pros: No wait, good food, reasonable prices Cons: Big after-church crowds - get reservations! more

My boyfriend and I went to Milano's on a whim. We wanted to try someplace different. The restaurant was pretty empty due to it being a Monday night, so we were seated quickly. For an appetizer I would recommend the tortellini, it was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the mushrooms al forno, though I would only recommend it to mushroom LOVERS. The food was good, but this is definitely the type of place that you have to come more than once in order to lock down an entree that fits your personal tastes. The menu is really detailed, so make sure to read all the ingredients in each dish b/c each one really effects the taste of each meal. For your first time, I'd suggest that you eat something that you know you'll like, and then you can branch out a little more and get Milano's Favorite another time. Pros: Great Service, Good Food, Great Atmosphere Cons: Location, A Little Pricy more

Great Italian Food Nearby 4/7/2005

Milano's is especially great at lunch when you can get a lunch special at a good price to sample the cuisine. In the evening it's quite a bit more expensive, but always good. The bread is to give up carbs for. Pros: lunch special Cons: expensive for dinner more

One of the best 10/14/2004

The food here is really consistant and yummy. I have eaten at many Italian restaurants and this is one of my favorites. The portions are generous sized plus with the bread and salad I always walk away stuffed. There dessert selection is great too!! They normally have over 10 desserts to choose from. I have only tried two of them but both of them were awesome!! Pros: inexpensive, tasty, lots of seating more

Not so good, not so Italian 7/24/2004

Whenever you ask for Italian dressing in an "Italian" restaurant, you should not be brought some white mayonaisse-based concoction. This is Milano's in a nutshell. They have a few good dishes but are about Italian as Chef-Boy-R-Dee. Milanos is far from being a good Italian restaurant. The portions, especially the seafood, are skimpy and over priced. (My $14 shrimp scampi came with 9 medium shrimp) and "Chef-Boy-R-Dee grade" pasta. On my first visit there, I sent my salad back because it contained a fly in it. Not a great first impression. The atmosphere is just ok, could be enhanced by the addition of a classical guitarist but hey, restaurant owners are greedy and I'm sure we won't be seeing live music anytime soon. Judging by the other reviews, Murfreesboro natives are: 1) easily impressed and 2) have never experienced a great Italian restaurant and have no basis for comparison. Pros: not crowded Cons: , not high quality, skimpy portions more

Pleasantly surprised 3/25/2004

Milano's is not exactly in the most romantic location around but what they lack in asthetics they more than compensate for in the kitchen. My husband and I tried the Milano's favorite pasta and the Veal Marsala both perfectly prepared. The salads were not terribly extraordinary, however they were fairly standard for you a-typical resturant. They have a dazzeling array of desserts (mostly cheesecakes) to choose from; we sampled the Tres Leche cheesecake and it was Heaven. Pros: great food, excellent desserts more

A treasure in a strip mall! 6/30/2003

Milano's is a gem, tucked away in a strip mall...don't let the surrounding atmosphere fool you. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the food is excellent. Especially recommended: the pasta alfredo con pollo, and the excellent fresh bread with olive oil for dipping. The Cesar salad is also wonderful. Friendly wait-staff, and a dessert tray to die for. All-in-all, a wonderful dining experience and a great value. Milano's is molto benne! Pros: excellent value, great food, great atmosphere Cons: too far from my house more
