Great service & great products 9/17/2011

I used Midway Party Rental for my wedding despite the mediocre reviews. I chose my sales person and I am very pleased with her. She got back to me rather quickly and was able to accommodate many of my changes. I was nervous about the products and shipping and everything! On the morning of our wedding, my family and friends gathered at the reception site to set up. Items were either individually or in a group packaged to keep dust out. All the items were shiny and clean. I was so pleased with their products. I really think that people should use this place. Keep up the good work! I would totally use this place again. more

WORST customer service and HORRIBLE taste 8/30/2010

If I could rate them -5 stars, I would. One word : unprofessional. I've been in the business for several years and have never been so unimpressed and disappointed with a company. For the event we used them for, the materials / machinery / textiles were either : damaged, old, dirty, unreliable and overall not what we agreed upon. Midway has an incredibly low level of customer service and their rude attitudes were a lovely addition. They don't care about your end result (when you to pay up front). Midway's aesthetic and taste level is awful as well. Their suggestions were dated and tacky and they never really understood our vision, even after they said they did. in the end, as a team and without Midway's help, we made it work . . . and it felt like Midway was never even a part of it. I would never consider using them again, and I would recommend you never do either. more

Don't use Midway 10/16/2008

had a terrible experience with Midway. Tried to bill me for missing items, which they lost. The sales person was of marginal ability - particularly in customer service. He had that combination of ignorance and arrogance that makes you sad for America. I was told ""I don't know what to tell you"" when I inquired about the missing items. This was after he could not remember calling me that morning.\r \r The items were fine, however because of this experience, I will never rent from this vendor again and will advise anyone to avoid this provider. \r \r Pros: Items were fine Cons: Poor customer service experience more

Midway was a name I had seen all over, & looking at their website I felt their selection of deco & rental items was expansive & everything seemed affordable, so I used them for our wedding. I worked with several individuals throughout the entire planning process & everything seemed very efficient. When most of my items were ordered I primarily worked with consultants on the ceiling draping for our reception venue. I sent one a picture & described what we wanted, & she drove to the venue, took measurements & quickly got me an estimate, which I felt was very affordable ($500 for ceiling & doorway organza draping & lights). The day before our wedding my family & I got to decorate the reception venue & got to view the draping ? it was beautiful & just what I asked for. Our problems with Midway started when a family member noticed the beverage fountain that was delivered & placed on a table with a white cloth ? it was leaking some kind of brown fluid all over the cloth & staining it. The fluid smelled like alcohol, so the previous users had likely served champagne in it. It was very disgusting, getting a dirty beverage fountain (probably is against health codes) & when we called Midway?s emergency line (we noticed this after 8pm on a Friday night when they were closed) & left a message we never got a response. At least the club?s manager was able to clean up the fountain for us to use, but it never worked properly ? half the time our beverage came out & the lights were on & half the time nothing worked. I feel I wasted my money on the drink & the fountain. Also, after Midway had picked up our rental items, a consultant emailed me to say that we had broken some mirror tiles and would have to pay for them - we know we didnt break anything. In my response I mentioned the dirty beverage fountain, wasted drink and no response to our phone call. Midway?s response surprised me ? they apologized, refunded the fountain cost and didn?t charge us for the broken mirror tiles. Pros: Friendly & helpful consultants; beautiful organza/light draping; wide selection of items to rent; rental prices seemed reasonable; delivery and pickup of rental items available. Cons: We were given a dirty beverage fountain - did Midway forget to clean it or bring us a fountain right from someone else?s event? Also, we think the delivery people broke the mirrors in transit. more

Our Wedding 2/12/2008

We got Midway Party Rental's information from one of the wedding shows we went to last year. We checked out their web site and were happy to find all of their prices right there. We were able to pick all of our tablecloths and centerpieces and know the pricing up front. We went in to their office to reserve all of these things and their staff was so nice and helpful. The week before our wedding, we had 10 guests who we thought couldn't come RSVP last minute. Midway Party Rental was able to get us stuff for one more table about 5 days before our wedding! We were so happy! Everything was so pretty and I would rent from them again for sure! Pros: they helped us last minute and they had pricing online more

my wedding was beautiful 2/5/2008

I was refered to Midway Party Rental by one of my friends who knows someone who works there. I really wanted the chairs covered at our reception hall because they were so ugly. We rented black chair covers and hot pink bows for the chairs. It was so beautiful! Midway Party Rental even came and put on all the covers and tied the bows for us. It was so nice not to have to stress out about it. We decided to have someone hang the white draping and lights on the ceiling, too. Everyone thought it was so beautiful and are still talking about it now! The chair covers and the ceiling treatments really made the hall look so much more beautiful in our pictures, too. I would recommend to anyone to use Midway Party Rental for their wedding. They were really nice and friendly and explained things to me that I wasn't sure about. It made my planning much easier. Pros: their price was much better than the other companies I called and they answered all of my questions. They made it feel more like fun than work. more

Very bad customer service... 6/30/2007

We rented $700 worth of equip/tables/chairs from them. Including a slushy machine and helium tank. The slushy machine never worked and we called their emergency after hours number and talked to the owner. He gave us suggestions. We called a couple times and told him it wasn't working. We tried the next day. 90+ degrees out, but it was in our garage. It seemed like it was going to work then went warm again. We had to buy pop and ice to replace our main beverage - the slushies. The helium tank leaked, had to get a replacement from Pary America. Owner remembers us calling. He's on vacation and doesn't care. People at the rental store hang up on us. Gave us $20 refund when we would be due $140 or more. We sent back unused/unopened slushy mix. Very poor customer service. We should not have had to chase all over town to replace items rented! I would not recommend them to anyone! Pros: Some stuff works Cons: Most things don't work more
