I have nothing but good things to say about the eye clinic. I love my Optometrist and his staff, they are punctual and caring; however I had a terrible experience with the eye glasses sales team.There was one particular salesman who did not return my calls. I tried to make an order 2 times over the phone. That was obviously a lost sale, and took my business elsewhere. In this economy I cannot tolerate bad customer service. Unfortunately these are the types of things that damage the good effort that other team members put forth. more

I was most impressed with their selection as well as their customer service! I would reccomend to everyone to go here. Their staff was very friendly and accomodating...and did I mention their selection is off the chain???? Pros: Excellent selection- great staff Cons: parking more

Outrageous Pricing - High Pressure Sales Tactics 10/31/2009

I went to Midtown Eyecare seeking to purchase a pair of name-brand glasses under my company's vision insurance plan. I insurance plan has a very specific copay schedule, with the first $X of the frame price covered and the rest an 80% copay on the frames. The problem is that Midtown's frame price was so high (above MSRP) that it rendered the insurance almost useless. To top it off, I specified that I wanted the same brand of lense as my current glasses. The sales person examined the lenses and gave me a price almost three times higher than the co-pay schedule, saying these were a ""higher grade"" of lenses than the ones on the co-pay. Later I researched and found that my exact lenses were on the co-pay list after all. Then the high-pressure sales tactics began - they wanted to add on scratch coating, anti-reflective, UV, etc., adding another $100 or so to the estimate. When I balked at all this she said ""you do want to be able to see well, don't you?"" I replied that I have been seeing just fine with my current glasses and left. i love this place 2/24/2009

My experience with Midtown eyecare was great, everyone was so polite i was there for an exam my prescription is very hard to come for contact lenses because of my prescription by but the english girl made sure that i had something to go home with untill the wright one that the doctor wanted me to wear came in. She was so nice as i had alot of questions and she answered everything with out being frusted compared to some places that i have gone to in the pass. The exam to me went by to quickly i dont feel i got the correct exam i should of got, It was very busy but their was such a slection of frames to look at that i did not mind. If anyone is ever in the midtown area and wants to get good service and dont mind paying for some good looking glasses this is the place to go. I have told alot of friends to come here as they all comented on my glasses. Pros: everyone was very friendly Cons: they need to open earlier as some people are already at work at 8am more

See What They Did 2/17/2009

I did not think I was treated fairly. They put drops in my eyes and then turned me over to a salesman who pressured me and went on endlessly explaining in shop talk the science of eyeglasses. Dazed, I wondered when the Dr. would call me back for the exam. I wanted to sit back down but there were 3 garbage cans in the seating area -- on the seats! Half-hypnotized, I ended up making a down payment on extremely expensive glasses I don't want because I was being worked over by a clever sales team technique. By the time I got home and my eyes were no longer dilated, I read what I had signed and the price in fine print was more than I was verbally told. Midtown Eyecare is an amazing place for all your vision needs. Their selection is wonderful. Everyone is friendly, professional and so very knowledgeable about what is right for you. I have received numerous compliments on the glasses we selected to the point where my children even think I'm cool. I have never been to a vision specialist where I received such invidivualized attention. more

I was very happy with my visit to Midtown EyeCare! They have a great office, great location and awesome customer service. They did not have my contacts in stock when I really needed them but they went above and beyond to get them for me. The store also has a wonderful selection of frames to choose from. I LOVE THIS PLACE! more

my overall experience here was sucky. The doctor was very knowledge but his staff was awful. I had to wait for hours before I was even brought back to the examine room. And the prices that I was quoted over the phone were not the same. Definitely wasn't good for business. more

Amazing customer service to a blurry eyed out-of-towner! 8/13/2008

I was in Atlanta last month for a large convention. I had that ""oh crud"" moment of realization on the airplane that I forgot my glasses. As soon as I arrived, I asked my hotel concierge where to go to get a reasonable pair of replacement glasses. He didn't hesitate for one moment to send me in a taxi 7 miles away to work with Midtown Eye Care. He was right! The customer service was wonderful -- we were able to get my prescription faxed over and the lenses were in stock! The folks there were so kind to help me find a suitable pair QUICKLY and at a FAIR price. I wish all stores had their flare for excellent customer service and southern hospitality for such a weary traveller. And as an added bonus, the glasses are cute. They've been officially replaced as my primary pair. Thank you so much! more

Knowledgeable, professional, prompt service 7/23/2008

I have worked with both Kay and Jessica at Midtown Eye on Ponce. I have a difficult eyeglass prescription to fill, but Midtown Eye gets it right every time. Also, each time I go in, there is a new, large selection of fun and fashionable frames. I tell them the look I am going for, and they pick out the frames that fit my face best. I would probably try on glasses for hours if it weren't for this guidance on what size, shape, even color fits my face best! The staff here is seasoned and has a definite knack for accentuating individual style. Fit and sizing is a professional and quick process, saving me time. I get lots of compliments on my different glasses, and always send folks in to Midtown Eye. The personalized service is the best, making what could be a daunting and time consuming task quick and enjoyable! Pros: Service, Style, Knowledge, Location, Hours more

I just moved to atlanta from another state and my visit to the office was great the girls are all very friendly. They kept me laughing especially on the doctors side, they are so layed back and gave me all the information that i needed when i asked a question. I really liked Dr. Barnes. He was very nice and when I told him that bright light thing really hurt my eyes, he was quick and it was painless. I don't wear contacts or glasses anymore, but it looked like they had a huge selection of frames. more

Customer service at this establishment is main reason I will not be a repeat customer. The staff is miserable, rude and unprofessional. They must realize they are running a BUSINESS and customer service as well as satisfaction actually matter to the clientele. The staff in person and on the phone are very impersonable with each interaction. Long wait times and difficulty getting through to the lens counter to re-order contacts on a regular basis has forced me to another much more professional eye care practice. Optometrist is fine but the staff makes the experience not worth the hassle. Pros: convenient to midtown area Cons: poor customer service more

Best place to get glasses 8/28/2007

I have been going to Midtown Eye Care for years and they are super helpful at finding the best glasses! I have bought 2 frames from them and commonly get stopped on the street by people complimenting my glasses and asking where I got them. It even happened in NYC!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a modern pair of frames. The frame salespeople are the best. They have been very honest with me about what frames look good and which ones don't. I even dropped a pair on my stone tile and broke the glass which they happily replaced without a problem!!! You can't go wrong by shopping here. My favorite is Jessica, but I think everyone there is helpful and knowledgable! more

Terrible 4/25/2007

The people who work there are unprofessional at best and nasty at worst. This place has never heard of the concept that the ""customer is always right"". They screwed up my prescription (I discovered they wrote a ""90"" instead of a ""40"") and when I went back to tell them that there was a problem, they immediately blamed my doctor for giving me the wrong prescription and then blamed me for not checking their transcription. While I can live with pricey glasses, you should get what you pay for and that should include good customer service. I will not go back there. Finally; eye help has arrived! 11/6/2006

I have to rave about my new favorite doctors office. Never have I been to an office with such cool stuff... my eye exam included state of the art technology, including an OPTOS machine. It allows you to not be dialated! The selection of glasses there is crazy! I can't believe they have more sunglasses than Lenox mall stores. I ordered a pair of regular glassses and they were ready in an hour. I walked out of there feeling confidant with my new look, and could see! If you want some cool glasses, go here! look no further for eyewear 11/6/2006

Last week I had an eye exam at Midtown Eye Care. I'm new to the area and was hesitant to go to a non-chain related office, but I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable with the staff. They are so much fun! I felt very welcome. The selection of eyewear in the store is incredible, and they had stuff I've never seen before. I got a pair of glasses that I felt I wouldn't see on every person on the street. The exam was quick and the doctor was efficient, and explained lots of things to me that I should have been told before at prior exams. I was taken in at my appointment time; not an hour afterwards. I highly recommend this office and if you are looking for cool eyewear- look no further. Pros: great selection, great staff, great prices Cons: NA more
