Always good experience for me 1/25/2010

Have taken my car here several times and have always had a good experience. Service is good and the mechanic is friendly. One time I came in to pick up my car and there was a college student in line ahead of me. He wasn't able to pay his full bill and the owner was very understanding and flexible about the situation. I have always been back after see this. more

found nothing 12/18/2009

I took my Volvo in to find out why I had a fuel smell and the check engine light came on. (The Volvo manual says that occurs when there is an emision problem. After 2.5 hours they came up with "the computer says there are codes for fuel trim and emissions" but it won't tell us what's wrong. DUH..... open the hood and see the small hose that was not attached... Of course this was from another garage. I got a "we can't figure it out, but we need paid for our time" from Micro Motors and a bill for $79.23 for NOTHING. Go back to the old school and actually LOOK at the car please. Still not sure if I am going to take them to Small Claims Court to recoop my money. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRY MASTERTECH...... more

Slow and Poor Service 8/24/2009

This business takes a very long time to finish repairs, and their repairs are done poorly. My car took nearly a month to fix, and when I got it back, it ran worse than it did before. They completed and charged for unnecessary repairs that I did not want done. After I took my car to them, I wanted to take it somewhere else because of their expensive prices, but they started to work on it before consulting me. I let them finish the repairs since they had already started, but was extremely unhappy with their services. more

Poor quality repairs resulting in major problems 8/24/2009

Micro Motors worked on my car recently, and they took about 3 weeks to finish the repairs, which took only a few hours of labor. They replaced a part and charged for the time to find it, which was more expensive than the part. That same part broke about 3 weeks later. They also filled my engine oil way too high, causing it to get into the engine. I was able to correct the problem myself, but the damage to the engine will cost more to fix than the car is worth. In essence, they fixed a few minor problems, but created a major problem that is forcing me take my car to a junkyard and find a new one. more

Good service and fair pricing 8/7/2009

Their labor charges were very fair, and they were honest about what the charges would be, so I didn't get surprised with a huge bill. They made several small, quick adjustments without adding on a ton of labor time for each little thing. They definitely knew what they were doing, and informed me before doing the repairs. I've had to have repairs done a few other times while in Bloomington, and this was definitely the best experience with a local auto repair shop. They took a fairly long time to fix my car, which is my only complaint, but at least I knew they were not ripping me off. If my car needs to be repaired in Bloomington again, I will most likely take it back to Micro Motors. more

Especially if you have a foreign car... 8/4/2005

I took my Pontiac Grand Am here on an occassion or two and was generally well pleased. However, this place specializes in foreign cars, and from what I hear, it offers a much better deal on them. If I can remember right, it may even offer a shuttle service for people who drop their cars off, which is a nice extra convenience. more
