I went to this salon after reading the one good review. What I wanted was simple: I wanted the ends shaped on my shoulder-length hair, and I wanted as little length taken off as possible, since I wear my hair up in a twist all the time. My hair is thick and has lots of curl. The stylist suggested long layers, and I said fine. She proceeded to take about three inches of length off, and to cut layers at angle, starting long at the front and ending short at the back, as though she was going to cut it in a wedge. Then she figured out that if she finished cutting it that way, I wasn't going to have enought length to put it up, so she left the length in the back. What's in the back now is a flat, shapeless mess with really short layers in back, but long in the front. The only fix would be to cut it short in the back, which I don't want to do, so I'm wearing my hair up in a twist until it grows out. To add insult to injury, she blow-dried it, straightened it out with a flat iron and heavily conditioned it, so I didn't realize how bad it looked until I got home and washed it so the natural curl would come out. Next time I get my hair cut (not at Michael Scott) I'll ask how long the stylist has been cutting hair.
Pros: She recommended a good shampoo
Cons: It will take me a year to grow out the damage
