Best

This small hole in the wall restaurant serves up by far the best Chimichanga that I have had for almost 20 years (and I have looked for a good Chimichanga all over the East Coast)...

Worst

I was really excited to try one of the overhyped margarita's, but was extremely disappointed in the drink when it arrived. It was barely cold, too sweet and tasted like it didn't...

Food came spilled out in bag...Lid wasn't sealed, so when i took it out, it spilled out on my floor. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 5/2/2013

Very odd for Mexican. We had a veggie enchilada and a mushroom burrito as part of the 2 entree meal. The refried beans tasted rotten or as if they were cooked in garlic. The rice tasted frozen. The veggies included were broccoli, carrots, and peas - odd for Mexican food. Both dishes had some kind of "special sauce" that was sweet and nasty - tasted more Asian inspired than Mexican. I could barely eat this dish. I didn't even open the salsa as it was a dark red instead of a bright red - it looked like dried blood, not appetizing. Plenty of other restaurants in the area serve the same amount of food (not under the name of "2 entrees" but, let's say one supreme burrito) for a third of the price. Also, they have both a minimum and delivery fee, again, odd for NY. We do tip our service people generously here. more

Great Chimichangas and Margaritas 5/27/2012

This small hole in the wall restaurant serves up by far the best Chimichanga that I have had for almost 20 years (and I have looked for a good Chimichanga all over the East Coast). The Margaritas are also great (although quite big) and the service was excellent. I have gone there twice so far and it is always the same. Each time the manager walked around making sure everyone was enjoying their meals. This is now a must stop place for me anytime I go the New York. more

Awful Bartender 1/28/2012

We stopped by for a margarita and some food over the weekend, as we were walking by a fellow gave us a flyer and invited us to walk in, we did, and sat at the bar, the bartender a heavy set male with a crew cut apparently from mexico, came over to offer us a drink, we immediately felt his nasty demeanor and attitude, he poored some drinks and dissappeared, we found him later seated on the barstools looking out the window, when we asked for more drinks he gaves us the worst look and proceeded to give us the drinks. This ""bartender"" has no people skills nor he belongs behind any bar, he is rude and intimidating looking, a bulky individual better suited for security of a club but certainly not interacting with patrons and business people, we will never ever visit this place again and good luck if you happen to have this guy as your bartender, he will ruin your night for sure. more

Fantastic Food and Margaritas! 2/18/2011

Love the authentic food. I don't know what seasoning they use on the meat but it is absolutely delicious!!! Margaritas are fantastic, so many choices. Rice and beans with salad are yummy. Very authentic, highly recommended. Definitely a good price for amount of food you get for the lunch special! more

Awful!!!!!!!!! 12/6/2009

So I use to walk by this little place everyday and decided one day to pop in for dinner with a few friends. We were so disappointed with everything. Food was over cooked, very dry and old clumpy rice. The table next to use had the same complaints (the only other group in the place). Manager argues about taking food off the bill so we paid, left and will never return. Pros: nothing Cons: the dry food more

AMAZING! 6/3/2009

I have been a customer at Mi Nadito for over 10 years now and when I'm in the City, it is my ""go to"" restaurant! Tucked away along 8th avenue, it is one of Hell's Kitchen's little treasures. Always serving up the freshest food and pouring the best margaritas in town - do yourself a favor and head over there tonight. And ask for PK, you'll be happy ya did! Pros: Food, Drinks and all... more

MARGARITAS 4/22/2009

The margaritas whether on the rocks or frozen RULE!!! The food is also great. I first came here with a friend who knows the owner. The prices are pretty (NYC standard) the food and portions are great. If you come around happy hour, it is loud and extremely crowded, but the prices are great. Pros: margaritas Cons: small dining and bar area more

good food, great staff 2/23/2009

I went today feb 23 for lunch. I was at the bar. The food was fast, and the bartender Antonio was very nice and friendly. I had the burrito lunch special served with rice and beans and a little salad, there was a free bean soup which was Ok, and free soda. He brought me nachos and salsa -the salsa was very tasty. The prices are great for the amount of food. I tried the strawberry margarita and was very good. I will definitely bring my friends here for a girls night out to get some margaritas. Pros: food, service, burrito more

Great food, service and margaritas! 11/4/2008

My husband and I really enjoy coming to this restaurant: Excellent food, service and overall experience. We moved here from California and thought there were no places with good Mexican food on the East Coast, but this place definitely proved us wrong! Everything is fresh and made-to-order and it has that true Mexican atmosphere. And for those who are wondering... the margaritas are awesome! Pros: Great food - real Mexican food! more

Love this place!! 7/16/2008

Any time I am in mid town Manhattan I try to visit Mi Nidito. I probably have eaten here 10 times over the last 5 years and it is great every time. It isn't authentic mexican food, it is more like California Mexican. The menu is huge and they have many vegan vegiterian selections. Pros: GREAT FOOD, large selection, vlarge egetarian menu Cons: None! more

Good food - Litlle over price 3/22/2008

Food is actually good. Beens are different (in a good sense). Would not call it authentic Mexican but the taste is good. more

Waste! 12/21/2007

Walking up to the restaurant I was nervous because of the fading old storefront signs and cheesy logo, but we marched in anyway with hopes of the food proving itself worthy. Oh no. We tried the bar lunch menu which is supposed to be cheaper but is actually way too much money for what you get. The place smells like garbage, the bar smells like cleaner and the food looks and smells like your summer camp cafeteria. The 'free' soup is beans, the side dishes are beans and the teeny burritos and chimichangas have no meat inside and taste similar to the Lean Cuisine version. The margarita is okay and you'll probably get excited with the real fruit in the strawberry and raspberry versions, but you might as well have gotten a smoothie instead because there's zero alcohol in these suckers. more

Very disappointing!! :( 9/3/2007

I was really excited to try one of the overhyped margarita's, but was extremely disappointed in the drink when it arrived. It was barely cold, too sweet and tasted like it didn't have any tequila at all. for $11+ a drink, it was really disappointing. The food. The portions were decent for the price, but I asked for a side of hot sauce to accompany my dish and was served a sweet garlic chili sauce instead. This place is definately not worth the money or the effort to get there. Pros: Food OK Cons: Margarita's Stink! more

The strawberry frozen margaritas are the best - real strawberries. The food is always fresh and tasty. It's sometimes a bit loud, but is a reliable place for a good meal. In the winter, the taco soup is the best - pretty spicy, with lots of veggies. As good or better than what Mom made. more

Best Margaurita in New York fresh food 7/27/2005

MiNiditos is the best place to get a Marguarita. It is smooth and strong. I have been going to MiNiditos for at least 10 years recommending it to my friends, especially woman friends, as a place you can go alone or with friends to relax and enjoy a healthful Mexican menu with the freshest ingrediants and the best Marguarity you will find in many states. Pros: great drinks, great food, friendly atmosphere Cons: small restaurant, go early Fridays more

DON'T BE FOOLED by the high best-of rating! 4/15/2005

Worst customer service (i.e. management) ever. Although the food wasn't bad, the service was so horrible, that I didn't even get to finish half of my lunch because the waitress never came back to my table after serving me. Ran out of tortillas for fajitas and couldn't get anyone's attention to come back to my table. Also never received one refill for my drink. Finally had to leave my table (in very cramped quarters) to flag down the bartender. By this time, my food was cold. Only ONE waitress was on staff for the rush lunch hour. To make matters worse, the assistant manager said she could only take $2 off my fajitas (priced at $16) that I had not even eaten half of. Had the nerve to tell me I should have gotten up from my table to find someone to serve me. TERRIBLE experience. Pros: Food is ok Cons: Small waitstaff, Bad Service, Poor management more

Wrong Hype 5/2/2004

This was the worst experience that I have ever had eating dinner. The service sucked. The ladies were more worried about talking to themselves then waiting on us. The food was undercooked and was skimpy compared to the over prices on everything. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Chevys on 42nd street was the best experience I had this weekend in New York. Check that one out if you want true Mexican food in a true mexican atmosphere Pros: NONE, NONE, NONE Cons: , POOR STAFF, SMALL more

Great! 3/4/2004

Can't believe I have worked only one block from this gem for the past 3 years and never noticed it! I did a Citysearch check last night for a last minute meal for two, and saw this high rating, so we went to check it out. WOW! The food, service and atmosphere are perfect... great casual mexican! Be sure you arrive hungry... portions are generous. All of the ingredients are fresh and tasty. We shared the double layer seafood quesadilla as an appetizer... yum! The fajitas and burritos were delicious... along with the chunky homemade guac! more

yum! 1/22/2004

last month, I had my 30th birthday party here with 10 guests. a great time was had by all. the waitstaff was very friendly and the food and drinks were terrific. go on an empty stomach, the portion sizes are substantial. this is the best mexican food i've had since moving to nyc 2 years ago from texas. an extensive menu for vegetarians. if you are going to have a large group, i would recommend calling ahead. it's a small place and i'm sure the staff would appreciate a heads up. Pros: good food, good drinks, friendly staff more
