Mexican grocery

These folks have everything you need when you are craving Mexican food. All the ingredients if you are into cooking, plus prepared stuff in the deli if you aren't. Especially good are the tamales--beef, chicken, pork, or chili/cheese. Great salsas and cotija cheese, plus mini corn tortillas and pintos so the kids can make mini-tostadas. A Judy's book reviewer reminded me they have pan de muertos, and I just bought some today for my daughter's preschool class and my book club, since tonight is Mexican Day of the Dead. But now that I've visited again, I'm reminded that I should schedule a regular Mexican feast and use it as an excuse to take the city bus down to the market. If you are looking for great hand-made tamales...this is the place. Also, I have just learned that they can order Pan de Muerto in time for Dios De Los Muertos. more

If you need the best Mexican stuff for your tacos, go here. They have all kinds of tortillas, sauces, dips etc etc. They will even give you recipes if you ask. The clerks are very friendly. We go here just for the variety of stuff offered. Prices are actually great considering its a specialty shop. Since its downtown parking is a pain, but worth the effort. more
