Best

I am surprised by the bad reviews for this place! I have been enjoying this restaraunt for 10 years and have yet to be disappointed! The first time I went I was skeptical, due t...

I hate to talk bad about these guys because they used to be really good when I was younger, but they have gone downhill. The last time I went there, about a year ago, the food was...

not authentic "mexican food factory" 6/4/2005

I am deeply sorry that our community is exposed to such tasteless food. This place does not do justice to Mexican Food. I don't believe the owners of this restaurant eat there themselves or they would know that this is a disgrace to what Mexican Food is supposed to taste like. I would rather eat at Taco Bell than expose my mouth to this again, ever. Hopefully, I will find Mexican food someday that tastes like someone tasted it before it went on my plate, that way they will know that the customer cannot be fooled if there mouth can't be fooled either. Pros: chips, salsa, alcohol Cons: food, no a/c, kids meals more

SOOOOO Worth it!! 5/13/2004

We drive from Collegeville PA ( 10 miles west of king of prussia) to get to this restaurant. It is by far the best mexican restaurant in the area. Prices are average- food is amazing ( and the salads come with a WIDE assortment of dressings....but try the cilantro vinagrette) We have never had bad service or a bad meal- we have had to wait on many occasions- so we try to show up no later than 5 pm. Give it a try- we love it! Pros: great food, wonderful service, wonderful sopapillas Cons: , lack of parking, not closer to my home more

Take it from a Texan 5/27/2003

The first thing that poeple rating this restuarant need to know is they are in South Jersey!! Not the Southwest!! The food here is the best I've tasted since I've been here. The place has a nice ambiance a friendly staff and the service was excellent. Anybody that says otherwise wouldn't know a good Flauta if it hit them in the head. The only drawback is it is a little pricey, but not bad. Pros: good margaritas, nice ambiance, good service Cons: hard to find, A little pricey more

THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD NORTH OF TEXAS 2/1/2003

THE MEXICAN FOOD FACTORY HAS UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD NORTH OF TEXAS. THE RESTUARANT HAS CHARM AND CHARACTER WITH FRIEDA KAYLO PRINTS AND MEXICAN MUSIC PLAYING SOFTLY. IT OFFERS A CANTEENA ATMOSPHERE, AND YOU GET A FEELING OF MEXICO. THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING. THE MENU AND SPECIALS ARE VARIED AND THE PORTIONS PLENTIFUL AND VERY TASTY. THE SERVICE IS EXCELLENT AND ATTENTIVE. THE FOOD IS AUTHENTIC MEXICAN AND OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY TO APPEAL TO EVERY TASTE. THE BAR OFFERS A VERY GOOD SELECTION OF BEERS, WINES AND SPIRITS. THE SAN GRIA IS OUTSTANDING, AS WELL AS THEIR SELECTION OF MEXICAN BEERS. THEIR PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE, AND SEATING IS PLENTIFUL. IT HAS BECOME A FAMILY FAVORITE SPOT FOR EATING OUT. I HEARTILY RECOMMEND THIS RESTUARANT IF GOOD MEXICAN FOOD IS WHAT YOU ARE CRAVING. more

Great place (if you can get in) 2/1/2003

Excellent food and service. A bit pricey, but portions are large and of excellent quality. Lines are long and the "waiting area" is pretty much non existent. Difficult accessibility (for waiting) for handicapped people and smoking section is near waiting area which gets extremely crowded at times. Pros: great food, service is excellent, usually quick to get Cons: long waits, one bench for sitting, smoking in waiting more

RIP OFFFFFFF!!!! 1/15/2003

I was very disappointed with this place. The only good part of the meal was the Corn Soup and that is it. They even charge you for the tortilla chips and don't tell you!!! WHAT CRAP!!! The portions arn't that flavorful and are small, they load your plate with lettuce and tomato and call it a salad... NO DRESSING!!! What a dive! Pros: Seated Promptly, Locations, Friendly Staff Cons: Food, Small Portions, Expensive more

Best Mexican restaurant in South Jersey! 12/14/2002

Best Mexican restaurant in South Jersey! Being that its very hard to find good Mexican as most diners dont have high standards or complicated tastes(for example the dog-food Chi Chi lover reviewer listed) this restaurant has food with variety, creativity, and spice for taste! Dont be fooled by the "chain" sounding name. For those who think Mexican is a chain - try some good stuff for once! Last time I ate at Chi Chi's I left hungry as the food was frozen beforehand for who knows how long and thoroughly like dog food. For those wishing authentic Mexican in Central Jesey - a must stop is Casa Mia in Gillete on Myersville Road more

Lots of salsa 10/18/2002

This place has it all. I praticulary like all of the choices of salsa that they give to you when you come in. The chicken enchiladas are to die for as well more

Mexican Cusine is Dead in SJ 9/25/2002

I guess you have to go to Mexico to get good Mexican Food. South Jersey surely doesn't have it. Too pricy for something that I could have made in my kitchen. I do have to give a positive comment on the ambience. I am a big fan of Frida Kahlo, so seeing her prints all over made me smile. And the one thing I did like there was the mixed drinks, I would recommend this place to get your drink on, but you should eat somewhere else before you go. Pros: Nice Decor, Good Drinks Cons: Too Expensive, Food So-So more

Maximum Authenticity 8/20/2002

This restaurant is the best Mexican Food in the area, hands down. The owner and chef is usually on site or in Mexico bringing back new recipes. The menu is very deep and even the old standard fare is done better than what you will find elsewhere. Try the Mole' Poblano or any dish with chorizo and you will see for yourself. Pros: Great Ingredients, Great Variety, Kid's Menu Cons: Very Popular more

El Alimento Mexicano Fabuloso 8/11/2002

Best Mexican Food in Philadelphia! Great salsa and warm homemade tortilla chips is just the beginning... Pros: outdoor seating, great atmosphere Cons: almost always a wait more

  • The Scene
The room--all wrought iron, rough tile and Frida Kahlo art--can start to look quite spooky after a few too many of this South Jersey standard's famous margaritas. But outside, a secluded terrace offers one of the most pleasant outdoor dining experiences in Burlington County.

    The Food
There are tacos, sure, but with a twist--aside from the usual beef and chicken, you can opt for the odd but tasty tuna in a blue corn tortilla. In fact, both the regular menu and the daily specials feature several excellent and unexpected seafood entrees, like grilled salmon with almond, cilantro and cheese pesto. If you prefer chicken or meat, there's a rich and sizzly crock of layered tortillas, pork, cheese, green chile sauce and sour cream, or grilled chicken topped with a chile, nut and raisin chocolate sauce.
