Back from the dead 8/19/2005

The Metro Twin has been revived from near dead, and with a much better "art" movie format. The theatre, which is still in pretty bad repair, now shows foreign and independent films--something the UWS both needs and can sustain. A little effort could make this place a big success--a lot of people outside the immediate area remain unaware of it. Good matinee prices. more

Arts theatre experience on the Upper West Side 8/18/2005

The Metro Theatre is a cute cinema with two movies showing at all times. It has a neighborhood feel to it, with reasonable prices and discounts for matinees. The theatre has just been renovated and the seats are comfortable while the screens are large. It is rarely, if ever, crowded. All told, a fine place to catch a cool movie and impress a brainy date! more
