Fantastic fun for all ages! 3/19/2006

I've been going to Mesker Park Zoo since I was a little girl, and I never tire of it's beautiful gardens and fantastic array of animals. We go at least a few times a year, especially to check out special exhibitions or events. My fiance' and I visited the zoo on our first date, so it has special meaning for us as well. ;) It's easy to find, parking is ample and the price is affordable. I've never seen it overly crowded, and the staff keeps the grounds relatively neat and clean. There are paddle boats on a scenic lake (filled with silly geese and ducks!), a tourist tram, a kid's play area and much more. For Evansville's size, it is a spectacular zoo with something special for everyone. more

Great Zoo 8/20/2005

This is a really nice zoo to go to. It's close to home so it's convenient and I don't have to travel three hours to go to one. My kids always enjoy seeing the animals. Easy to locate and always good parking... never a problem. We try to go here at least once a year. more

Come see the animals! 8/9/2005

Okay, so it isn't a big city zoo, but it is still great! They have I think the oldest hippo in captivity. They have a great area near the petting zoo where the kids can play and learn about the animals. They trails are full of hills to make the walk a good exercise. Parking is limited and hard to manuevre. The price for a day is a little high but the membership is reasonably priced if not cheap! It is good for a year and they are open year round. Even Christmas. They have a gift shop and paddle boats. They also rent wagons for the little ones. They offer a tram for the ones too tired to make it back up the hills and bumper boats for the kids. more
