Editorial review from Citysearch 1/15/2014

I have noticed an increasingly warm and welcoming change about Merryhill School since my children have been here for over a year.\r \r They come home with something new to show or tell us each day.\r \r Whether it be a Spanish word, a Yoga for Kids stretch or something about the lesson.\r \r They are dissapointed to leave!\r \r I love that nearly each teacher is of a different race and culture and I can see the evidences of a relationship with each child in the classroom when I go to pickup.\r \r Some teachers have been there for over 14 years! \r \r I recommend this school because my kids are LEARNING. Not being baby sat.\r \r They also have an after school program so my older ones enjoy going to what feels like their second home after school.\r \r I couldn't encourage you enough to try and see the impact it will have on your kiddos.\r \r We are definitely a Merryhill family.\r \r The only thing I feel even the slightest bit picky about is the lunch food.\r \r They dont have very healthy vegetarian options, but we bring our lunch when we can :)\r \r more

Great Preschool 8/31/2011

All of my children(and my neighbors as well) go here and have been here for years. We have always been pleased with the care in all the rooms since my kids have been in them all! They have even gotten better since the beginning of this year with the building and management changes. I would recommend this preschool due to the great managemant, staff and curriculum. more

Terrible 6/16/2011

Horrible. Mass chaos with elementary school aged children, teachers never knew when we were coming or going, someone out of the ordinary picked up my child without being identified, last and worst-a 12 year old girl wrapped a jump rope around my 8 yr old son's neck leaving marks, couldn't sleep at night, and woke up with incredibly sore neck muscles. Never heard anything from the school about an injury when he went home and apparently they never saw the incident. Fired them after 3 days. more

HORRIBLE SCHOOL! 1/10/2011

This school is horrible! My child would come home with bruises and tell me that a teacher had grabbed them. The teachers are not certified or curriculum based in any way. They are constantly going over ratio because teachers are always quitting. The staff is very RUDE and i was constantly worried about my child. Teachers would swear on a constant basis in front of kids! Unbelievable! Also, they serve food that is out of date and smells rancid. more

Font office staff is nice, but... 9/12/2009

A few months ago my child did the "adventure day" (or free trial day) at this school. Not only did they seem unprepared for this visit, I had to ask them what all I needed to do, bring..etc. When I picked my child up, the teacher was too busy "cleaning" and was extremely unapproachable. Little things like not having my childs name on papers, not knowing where their belongings were and not telling me about how their day went were all big red flags. When we got in the car, I asked my child how their day went. My child would barely talk and told me they didn't have lunch because they forgot to ask for it. Now, I know this school more than likely fed my child, but something had to have happened during lunch that affected my child. My child was so excited about school and even now when I ask about school the passion and excitement is gone. I do not recommend this school only because my visit was so unsatisfactory, but maybe you'll have better luck. It just seemed they really did n more

Loved this school so much it was hard to send my kid to elementary 10/18/2007

Our family was excited about starting "big school" but actually a little sad because we have had such a good experience with Ivy Glen. Before moving to Trophy Club, we had several bad experiences with daycares especially in the "turnover" department.. not here...they have dependable, enthusiastic teachers who really have a pulse on getting your child prepared for elementary. We still have our daughter enrolled in the after school program and she really loves it there. more

Great 9/8/2005

Ivy Glen shchool in trophy club is one of the best child care facilities that i have seen in this town. They are so considerate of everyone there and they have such great people working with them. They are great with kids and are very good when it comes to getting your kid's from school. I love this place and would reccomend it to all! more

The Perfect Balance of Learning and Play

Owner Message
  • Merryhill Preschool combines learning experiences and structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment - offering more than just child care. Preschool is the first introduction to a lifetime of learning, a journey that should start off on the right foot. Our enthusiastic teachers genuinely care about children, and understand each child's individual developmental needs and learning styles. They take the time to help each child discover, in his or her own way, a fascinating world of play and learning. At our preschool, we make children feel comfortable and confident. They want to learn and play here. We encourage a highly productive partnership between teachers, principals and parents. We link parents to what their children are learning at school through monthly folders, parent bulletin boards and open parent-teacher communications.
