Driving by this every day to and from work, I finally made it a trip to visit the Millopond. Granted, I go there frequently with students in the park area, I had never ventured into the actual swamp. I was in for a big treat. This is such a gorgeous yet, strange place to visit. The canoe rental was very cheap (5 dollars for an hour.) And the park attendant told us exactly where to go to have the best experience. So we followed the well marked trails and got to see beautiful birds, bald cypress trees, spanish moss, many turtles and so much more.
Of course there are alligators, but I didn't see any that day, because it was too hot. But if you are lucky you just may come across one!
There is camping, fishing, canoeing, birding and other things to do here also. This is such a different thing to do, it is so hard to pass up and I will most definitely not let 5 years pass by before I do it again!
