Best

I got my hair cut at Stag Hair Parlor today... Just 2 blocks west of La Brea. Great haircut and fun people. Frida's is right next door. The best tacos this side of La Cienega!!

Melrose Avenue is great for Halloween costume shopping... 11/17/2009

Or if you are a particularly stylish individual (which I'm not) you can put together a pretty cool every day outfit! My favorites on Melrose Avenue include Aardvark's, Melrose Trading Post and other vintage stores. Pros: You can always find something unique on Melrose Avenue. Cons: Some stores are just cheap. more

AVOID ""BROOKLYN PROJECTS"" CLTOHING STORE!! 7/27/2007

Melrose Avenue is basically a bunch of cheap clothes marked up so as to scam tourists. I am NYC native and know a scam when i see one. The store Brooklyn Projects in particular is one to avoid. They have a no refund/return policy on clothing. The will not even let you exchange clothing. The shorts go for at least $100.00 a pair. I bought the wrong size as a gift for a loved one and the manager would not even let me exchange the pair that same day! I would go online if you are looking for cool/hip clothing. You can find the same items at a fraction of the price. It is all marked-up junk. ESPECIALLY AVOID ""BROOKLYN PROJECTS""!!!! Pros: STYLE Cons: SCAM, OVER PRICED JUNK! more

Some of the Best Shopping in the World! 3/23/2005

Put on a comfy pair of shoes! Melrose is great forthose looking for fresh styles and fair prices. MAny of the shops put ridiculous pricing on thier merchandise but will cut them in half if you ask. Got some True Religion knock off jeans there for $55. The tag on the jeans read $169. They will also make deals for buying multiple items. All of the sales people are pretty hard core so be warned....you will be attacked! Pros: prices, selection, location Cons: puchy salespeople more

Always good 12/27/2002

I've always loved shopping on Melrose. There is a unique selection of stores, though it was a lot cooler a long time ago. There are pretty good things to be found, though you'd be surprised that a lot of what you'd see here can be found at Venice Beach for much less the price. Pros: great scene, good variety Cons: some pricey stores more

Stride along Melrose Avenue to discover a world of vintage and high fashion stores. Discover where Jennifer Anniston's stylist shops and buy wonderful vintage cowboy boots and glorious turquiose jewellery. Then stop by Tommy Tang's for sushi and cocktails before heading down the other side of the street. You will never shop anywhere as ecletic as Melrose. Pros: Good range of goods, Great places to stop Cons: Parking sucks more

As a Los Angeles native, I know my way around southern California pretty well. From the Hills of Beverly to the Lake of Silver, I'm pretty knowledgeable of L.A. happenings. Melrose is a wonderful attraction. The have stores for every style and budget. If your looking to see and be seen Melrose is the place to shop. They have thriftshops galore and a few mainstream apparel stores, like Urban Outfitters. Please, take note: bring your life savings. It's hard to control yourselves with all those enticing finds. But....Buyer Beware! A lot of these stores are quite shadey, selling $3 items at an obscene markup. Also, parkings a major pain. Be careful parking in residential streets. Meter maids are harsh in these neck of the woods. Pros: Tourist Spot, See and be seen, Great variety Cons: Parking, Crowds, Obnoxious people more
