The same sauce for two dishes? The same CRAPPY sauce for two dishes? The portions were tiny, the naan was passable, but this is Indian the way Taco Bell is Mexican.

WILL STEAL FROM YOU WHEN THEY DELIVER TO YOUR HOUSE 9/12/2011

HESE GUYS STOLE A VACUUM FROM OUR FRONT PORCH AFTER THEY DELIVERED FOOD TO OUR HOUSE! Beware of the bad reviews on this company, they are for real. We've eaten from these folks before, but this is the first time we've had them deliver. And what a mistake it was to have them to our house! I ordered from them at around 6-6:10pm last night. The (I assume owner/husband of the woman that cooks there) brought the food over at around 7:30pm. I had placed a vacuum - a White Miele canister vacuum on my front porch at about 7pm, which a friend of mine was coming to pick up early in the morning (today). Mind you, we don't live right up by a road, our house is set back and you can't see our porch from the road. It's also a nice area, so this kind of thing just doesn't randomly happen! At 10pm when I looked outside the window, I looked on my porch, and the vacuum was gone. These guys were the ONLY people that would have come to our porch (and stolen our vacuum!) between the hours of 7pm and 10pm. We will be filing a police report this afternoon. more

I will not be going back for more. 3/26/2010

I learned about Mehak on restaurant . com, which usually has great recommendations for quality food. Unfortunately, this was not the case when we visited Mehak for dinner last week. My boyfriend and I did get a very good first impression: it was wonderful to be greeted by the owners; they are friendly and, yes, from India! But the night went downhill from there. To start, we ordered Mango Lassi, which usually is a yogurt and fresh mango blend iced drink. Surprisingly, the drinks were neon yellow and didn?t taste like mango in the least. For appetizer: naan, which was good. Our entrees, tikka masala, one chicken and one shrimp. Both well overcooked and the sauce was heavy and thick, as if it had been heated and re-heated and re-heated one more time. Speaking of heating, the entrees came over to the table so fast, it is almost certain to me that they were micro waved, rather than made to order. If the owners happen to read this, I do wish my review provide some insight on aspects that could be improved. If you are planning on checking it out yourself, please do. Maybe you will disagree with me, but I am afraid that you won?t. Pros: Location Cons: Quality of Food, Ambiance more

Good place for a great meal. 4/9/2009

Just found out about this restaurant. I've had the lunch buffet twice now. I've been to tons of Indian restaurants but this is my favorite by far. Very friendly people. The food is wonderful. My favorites are the naan, chai, tandoori chicken, and rice with chutney. Affordable and the service has been quick. Highly recommended! Pros: The food is extremely good & the staff very friendly. Cons: None that I have experienced. more

Definitely a take out/ delivery place ...the food is delicious, and varies a bit from other Indian restaurants around town, but the ambiance of the location itself is, well... "third world", perhaps ? Best enjoyed in one's own sumptuous quarters, but definitely enjoyable. more

Best Home Style Indian Food in town 7/15/2008

I love this wonderful restaurant, the food is delicious and the peolpe are very friendly. This family owned restaurant has so many great dishes, is hard to go wrong with anything. I have tasted so many dishes and they are all so delicious. My favorites are Lamb ggoa curry, Okra Masala. Their Samosas and thir Nan are so fresh and right out of the oven. I recomended over any other. Personally I have eaten at other Indian restaurants some not even worth mentioning. However before I found this restaurant Bengal tiger was the one, I have been to The taste of India as well but Mehak is still number one for me. If I had to choose, this will be the order. Mehak, Bengal tiger and last Taste of India. more

home made indian - the BEST in seattle, by far! 4/21/2008

we've been going to mehak's since they first opened up in wallingford many years ago. after two moves they still have the very best indian we've ever had. the staff is super friendly - we're treated like family there. definitely check out the lunch buffet if you're on a budget, but it's their regular menu where they really shine. i can't say enough about this place! we're always thrilled to go eat there. Pros: best tasting food ever! Cons: none i can't think of more

Great Indian Food, Samosa..... 3/5/2008

I just came out from Mehak Indian Cuisine, and it was great! I've been there several times. They have recently relocated in 123rd Roosevelt Way. I am a fan of their Samosa and Chatani. Everything is clean and homely environment with family run restaurant, unlike other experiences of my elsewhere. PARKING! Yes, it is free. The Nan was delicious and tasty. I usually love their Saag Paneer and it was really good. The cooks were a little bit traditional, but the flavor was so good. I saw one of the previous reviews, and agree that some times the communication is not convenient, but because of great Indian food you won?t be disappointed. I'm excited too munch with some great Indian food in a convenient location (I usually walk around this area with family). Oh, the Tandoori Chicken was yum-yum. Try it. Pros: Great Indian food with affordable price more

Great Food and great service with good price 2/23/2008

First of all the place looks beautiful. It has changed so much since before. I absolutely love all the changes done to it. Can you tell i'm a regular?...yup, very much so. It's one of those places that you get so attached to everyone there that you can't help but kep going back. It's such a family oriented restaurant and great food offcourse to go with it. I love the special menu, everything is so exotic. I really recommend it for families or special occasions. The tikka masala is amazing and the Kerala coconut fish curry. I'll keep comming back. more

I've never had better Indian food. Mehak Indian Cuisine exceeds any expectations you may have had in the past, and sets an extremely high bar for any other Indian restaurant in seattle. I love Mehak! more

Disspointed in their communication... 12/13/2007

Don't get me wrong, the food here was EXCELLENT! It was brought out quickly, and I had a really good meal alltogether. Pros: really good food, not hard to find Cons: no lunch buffet, dinner prices for lunch, not enough paneer in the Palak Paneer more

Excellent service, excellent food 9/22/2007

I finally found great Indian in North Seattle! The food here was as good as any Indian food I've had in the Seattle area, or anywhere else for that matter. It's not a fancy restaurant per se, but there's plenty of parking. more

Awesome! 9/22/2007

I agree with every other great review! Food was fantastic! Service was awesome, probably because there was no on else in there! We need to spread the word about this place and get it filled. It would be a shame to see this place close due to low traffic. It is easy to miss and I did drive right by it, BUT remember that it is right next to the Deli/ Minimart. Good eating! Pros: Fantastic food..all of it Cons: peculiar location more

Yummy Indian food 9/18/2007

We second and third the ""best spinach nan"" raves from other reviewers. The nan was stuffed fat with spinach, which was perfect for dipping in the yummy cilantro chutney. The food is great here and the service very friendly. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside (if you even notice it all). The restaurant scene is quite lacking in this area so it's exciting when there's good food available just a few blocks from my house. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food there. Pros: Delicious food more

Great! 9/3/2007

Great! The chicken tikka masala was mouth watering and perfectly spiced. I drove by the place though - it's got a lousy location on the corner. Cheesy looking from the outside and very easy to miss. The mango lassi was the only thing a friend of mine said wasn't all it should/could be. There was no one there when we got there at 6 on a Saturday but folks came trickling in after. The location is working against them - press in! more

Great food, friendly environment, AND they deliver! 6/25/2007

This is a great new place! The food is delicious and the family run environment is very warm and friendly. You will love the spinach naan. It is the best I have had. I also love their prawn and lamb dishes. Their lunchen buffet is a major deal! It is a good way to try new dishes. Also, it is a large place, so you can always get a table. It is a great addition to the Broadview district AND they will deliver to your home or business! Now that is unique! more

Best Indian Restaurant in Seattle 5/4/2007

Delicious food - the paneer tikka masala is mouth watering good. The nan is perfection. The lunchtime deli has several options for vegetarians. However, whenever I've visited, the restaurant has been almost deserted. Where are the fellow Indian food lovers in North Seattle? Please support this restaurant - i'm going to be devastated if it closes due to lack of customers (yes really). Pros: The food is the best in Seattle Cons: Too few customers! Please support this restaurant more

This IS the best restaurant for India cuisine 4/27/2007

I encourage everyone to give this place a try. My fiance and I love this place! The owners are very welcoming and gracious. The are very sweet and nice. The prices are very reasonable, and of course, the food is excellent! You get seated right away. You can make additional requests on items you order. We love the spinach naan, lamb vindaloo, and many of their chicken dishes (too many favorites). We are always encouraged to come back by the owners before we head out the door. Mehak offers a very welcoming and cozy dining experience at a very affordable price. Pros: They have a bar in the back for the after dinner crowds! more
