DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS LEGAL???...
I purchased a tanning series (20 visits) a few months ago at Golden Gate Fitness. There was no "date of expiration" on the series. I used a couple of them (it was late summer at the time) & figured I'd use the rest the following spring. A couple of weeks ago (now that spring is around the corner), I went to Golden Gate Fitness to use my tanning visits. THEY TOLD ME THE TANNING BEDS WERE REMOVED & told me to come back the next day & talk to someone named Greg about possibly getting reimbursed. I returned a few times & each time it was the same thing...no Greg. I LEFT MESSAGES & THIS "GREG" NEVER CALLED. Finally, this afternoon, I went by the place again & Greg was there. He gave me a hard time & said he had posted something telling people the beds were going to be removed two months ago. I explained that no one really tans during the winter months & questioned him as to why he hadn't returned my calls. He lied & said he wasn't around (yet if he wasn't around why were all the other employees constantly telling me he would be in later that day, the following day, etc.) I happen to live a couple of blocks from this place which is why I was able to go by there so many times. Yet I'm sure there are people who have purchased tanning packages & aren't so local & are being ripped off! Also, I still don't know if I'll be reimbursed as this Greg person simply took my info & said he would "put a check in the mail in March."
SHOULDN'T GOLDEN GATE FITNESS BE OBLIGATED TO MAIL REFUNDS TO ALL ITS CUSTOMRS? They are making approx. $50 a person they aren't informing about this & there is a thick stack of member cards! Regardless of whether or not I end up getting reimbursed, I wanted to bring this to people's attention as it all seems pretty "slimey" to me!
