Mecklenburg's is a bridge to Cincinnati's German roots. The ambience of the beer garden in warm weather is fantastic. The bar area has great warmth with lots of woodwork and a cozy atmosphere. Ditto for the dining room. Early birds are older folks who have been going there for decades, and later crowd is a younger, more eclectic mix. Get a huge liter beer, a good import or one of the local Christian Moerlein beers. I recommend the simpler fare over the entrees: locally made brats and metts are excellent. The pricier sauerbraten, pork schnitzels, etc., are OK but not a good value. I hope they upgrade the quality of the entrees.
Pros: Beer garden, beer selection, locally made sausages
Cons: Mediocre entrees
