I just endured the worst experience ever at a McDonald's drive thru. I ordered 8 Egg McMuffin sandwiches and was asked to pull ahead in a parking spot. I watched 5-6 orders being filled behind me for over 20 minutes before I asked the worker what about the delay and stated what my order was. After another 5 minutes (for a total of 25 minutes!), I proceeded to get out of my car to go in and saw the Manager come out with a bag. It was only after I showed my displeasure (with some restraint) that she even offered an apology. After she rushed back in, I looked in my bag and realized that it was the wrong order! I proceeded inside and firmly informed the Manager of the mistake and what my order was. After another 5 minutes, my order was finally filled correctly! This whole process took over 30 minutes for a fast food order! Now that's a joke!
The Manager completely missed the mark on customer service in this situation. She could claim that I was being rude but, that would be a lie. I was definitely upset but, was not aggressive or rude in any way. I know that it is customary for an offer of compensation (ie. free order of fries, sandwich, etc.) but, that was not offered at all. Such a simple acknowledgement of their blunder would have sufficed! I believe that even though the drive thru window attendant saw me waiting for such a long duration, I may have been sitting there indefinitely because they actually forgot my order!
What a completely disgusting experience!
