When I go out to eat, I expect to pay a lot for my meal. I also expect to get a lot of food for that money. I'm a bit of a foodie and only want the best. Well, this place did deli...

Worst

What seemed to be an upscale, fancy steakhouse, turned out disappointing. The kitchen at Fleming's is exposed to the guests. After 15min, I wished I wasn't sitting "in the kitchen...

Love Flemings! Pros: Best Steak, Service more

Parent's Night Out 9/30/2009

Fleming's, located at 720 Aliceanna St, is very hard to locate for someone not from the area. It is set back behind Roy's on the Eastern side of the round about in Harbor East in downtown Baltimore. My wife and I drove around the area for five minutes trying to find this place. However, upon arrival, the valets were excellent and expeditiously serviced our vehicle and guided us to the door. After we were escorted to Fleming's, we were cordially greeted at the entrance by the maitre'd. She informed us that we would have to wait at the door until somebody would come to seat us. My wife and I thought this was odd. After a few minutes and our patience wearing thin, the maitre'd seated us herself. The explanation was eventually provided to us, but the maitre'd was waiting on the ok to seat us from the private security team of one of the guests. I am still not sure who the VIP was, but I was told he was royalty from abroad. Despite the rough opening, Fleming's met all of our expectations. The wine list is superb. Dae Chang, the wine manager, is phenomenal and quite personable. After having a great conversation about the Zuccardi Malbec, Dae took a picture of my wife and I and then framed it and delivered it with our dessert. Our host, Mike Mizrai, was great! He was well versed on the menu and made our evening out that much more special. His prompt and courteous service was not overlooked. He ensured that our wine glass was always topped and that our food was properly prepared. It was just the service you should expect when you go out for dinner. The food was superb. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. My wife and I are very particular about the preparation of our meat and we both ordered our meat cooked in between the normal preparation standards. The kitchen was able to answer our request! My steak was prepared Medium rare plus and my wife's medium plus! For dessert we tried their Molten Chocolate Lava Cake. It was the absolute best that my wife and I have had. They serve the standard fare with two scoops of vanilla ice cream on a chocolate chip wafer. The cake itself is more molten than cake and when opened up pours out and covers your dessert plate. The pistachios that top the confectionated sugar on top of the cake are lost in the river of chocolate and make for an excellent crunchy surprise as you devour this decedent dessert. This restaurant is an absolute must! Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent Service Cons: Hidden in Harbor East more

One of My Favorite Fine Dining Places! 6/26/2009

I ate at Fleming's again with my girlfriend; it has become our date spot. This time it was a Saturday so we had to wait a few minutes to sit down, but being around LA Live it's not a bad place to chill. Our seats were at a table in the middle of the restaurant. Normally I like a booth, but I was ok with the different seating experience. Of course first things first we had to order some wine, I was in the mood to try something different. I ordered a bottle of the Valley of the Moon, a Cabernet. Though Cabernet was not my favorite, I was digging the flavor. This time we started with the Jumbo Shrimp and each got a Caesar Salad. For our main course we both got the Lobster. Something about seafood seems very romantic. She wanted a little something for desert, so we split the Cheesecake. It tastes different from the usual Cheesecake I have had in the past, but good none the less. A great experience as usual. Pros: Great Steak and Lobster Cons: Pricey more

Great Steak and great people 6/15/2009

As we walked into the Flemings for the first time we were so impressed by the greeting we received at the front door. Our waiter was fantastic and the food was even better. As our night went on several managers came by the table to check on us making sure that our experience was sensational. One more thing, the chocolate lava cake was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Pros: Best steak and service in town more

LOVED IT !!!! 2/12/2009

Went to the Los Angeles location at LA LIVE, My Wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. No reservations, we were seated immediately and began to have a great evening. Everyone was gracious and accommodating . My steak was excellence and my wife loved her scallops. The clam chowder was the best I've ever had. Had a delicate crab taste to it, I passed on the large wine list (40 mile drive). We arrived at 5:15 , by 6:30 the place was very busy, but the crew was still checking on us frequently. Overall the settings was very romantic, we didn't tell the staff of our anniversary until leaving, but somehow the manager Omar, managed to collect signatures from the staff on a beautiful card before we left. My wife insist we return for brithdays and our 25th anniversary of our frist meeting next month. Pros: ambience, service Cons: parking -1 block away, but new sights(LA LIVE) more

Best experience you could ever wish for 2/3/2009

This is the only place to take someone to impress them. The service is the best. The food is the best. Your car is ready when you are. The price is less than expected for the treatment you get. Top to bottom this place is it !! The steaks melt in your mouth There is no place like this place. I drive fifty miles to get there and am happy to do it. .Mr. Howard Mathews Pros: manager comes around to make sure you experience surpassed your expectations. Cons: still trying to find one more

not the most sanitary 1/10/2009

We waited for 35 minutes, were seated, handed menus and walked out after a big ____ (exact name of refused by city search) walked across our table. Pros: none Cons: dirty more

Meal began very well in bar area with wine and lobster appetizer. When moved to dining it was freezing cold! Noticed other diners were wearing their coats and my husband put his on. Darryl, the mana 11/30/2008

Usually a good experience but not last night. Meal began very well in bar area with wine and lobster appetizer. It was a tad chilly and when moved to dining area it was freezing cold! Noticed other diners were wearing their outer coats (not to be confused with a suit jacket) and my husband put on his lether coat to keep wam. Darryl, the manager, laughed it off saying he was wearing a wool suit. Said he would turn up heat. We felt unheard. Sorry but I am not going to spend an evening at a place where we ordered a $180 bottle of wine eating with my outer wear on. E might as well been sitting outsite. We ended up leaving without dinner. Yes it was a cold evening outside but an extremely nice restaurant should not be so cheap to not turn on heat for patrons. more

I wished I lived in the area... 11/22/2008

My father-in-law treated my husband and I to dinner at Fleming's, and I was truly impressed. The server and expediter were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food, and were able to give great suggestions about wine pairings. I ordered the seared tuna, and it was amazing. It about melted in my mouth. I tried my husbands steak, and that was cooked perfectly, as well. We ordered the Chocolate Lava cake for dessert, and it should be named Death by chocolate! When we go back to Scottsdale, I would love to go back to this place. more

It must be the location 11/12/2008

I cannot fathom how this place stay's busy. The service is amateurish at best. The food is always cooked poorly. No one really cares if your meal was good or not. The menu is so overwrought with dishes stylized from the 90's (Chipotle on everything). I do not know how anyone does not say anything. It must be that the location is so easy to get to for the locals, they are just too lazy to drift elsewhere. I have eaten there, and had private parties there, but no longer. I cannot take the torture when I know I can do better. It is like a bad relationship and I had to break it off. I have been invited to eat there many times since and have refused as there are Far better Steakhouses in town. Pros: Nice cars parked out front Cons: Weak service & food more

Great, very romantic 11/11/2008

Flemings is so yummy! Need I say more, it has a wonderful selection of Martinis, try the key lime pie drink. The steak is huge, so go hungry, try it, you will be glad you did. more

GO ON SUNDAYS 10/8/2008

Flemmings is great and if you can afford it I recommend you try it and if you cant I recommend you try it on Sunday. The Prime Rib deal on Sunday is the best and the meat is execellent, the post who said otherwise must have been a one and a million shot because its always a great cut. Still the deal is great as you get a salad and side AND dessert all for one price, everything is usually a la cart, which can get high. All and all great deal for a Sunday meal. more

great steakhouse 9/27/2008

excellent steak, decent value, prices reasonable, appointments available , nice atmosphere, friendly staff Pros: food Cons: none more

Food was great, ambiance not so much. 9/27/2008

The food was excellent, especially the calamari. The beef was so tender it practically melts in your mouth. The service was also very good. But the atmosphere left something to be desired, they have an open kitchen- ineresting in theory, but it means that it was hard to hear over the din of dinnerware and silverware being stacked, and when you add that to the large dining room it was really hard to talk to the other members of our party. The location is nice, but the valet was disorganized- you might want to consider the parking lot just a few blocks away. For comprable food, but better ambiance, try Jordan's in Ellicott City, or Lewnes in Annapolis. Pros: good food service Cons: noisy to the point of annoying more

OVERRATED 9/14/2008

way overpriced and average at best food Wont go back $200 for 2 people and i had no drink Not for me . Other places in town much better then this overrated joint more

Wonderful Food, EXCELLENT Service 9/6/2008

My husband and I have been going to Flemings regularly since we moved to Austin over 3 years ago. We love the food, which has always been outstanding and delicious, but the service is the real reason we frequently return. You have to ask for Taylor! Not only is he one of the best servers we have ever had, but he provides the most personalized service one can achieve. He knows everything we like and nails it every time. So next time you go to Flemings to enjoy one of those phenomenal filet's, make sure you pair it with Taylor for a perfect night out! more

Disappointed in customer service 6/8/2008

Our service was slow and inattentive. It seemed our waiter attended to two of the four tables instead of checking all the tables during his table visits. After eating our salads and having the plates cleared, the waiter then came over and asked us if we had even received our salads yet. He seemed overwhelmed. After waiting for our entrees, which we considered to arrive in an untimely manner, we noticed the manager visiting tables in this section. He visited two of the three remaining tables, bypassing our table and not inquiring about our experience. At this point, we had comments to share with the manager about our service. Unfortunately, we were unable to talk with him then because he did not look our way. We asked a food runner for the manager to visit our table. When asked why he had not stopped by our table to see how our service was, he replied that we were just beginning our entrees and did not want to interrupt. However, he did visit the table next to us even though their entrees had arrived shortly before ours. We felt slighted that we were not one of the important 60 tables in the restaurant. We had concerns and feedback for the manager in regards to our service. While apologetic, the manager's response was he had 60 tables to attend, and he could not visit all of the the tables in a timely fashion. He told us he was "sorry we felt that way", and repeated that line over and over. This response disappointed us. A genuine apology for the lack of service was all we needed. We felt that the service by the waiter was below standards. The manager's concern for our feelings was insincere. We did not ask for any portion of our meal to be taken off the bill. We just wanted to express our dissatisfaction, hoping that further patrons would have a more pleasant dining experience than we did. more
