McLendon’s is a hardware store that you can pretty much find whatever you need for home maintenance. Slightly smaller than the bigger, national chains, this store relies on it’s personal, customer friendly service. You won’t find a lot of variety here, but if you are not picky on brands, it’ll suit you just fine. In the summertime, you will also find a nursery with a variety of plant and landscaping needs; as well as products for outdoor entertaining. The expertise that you come to know at the national stores is something that is hit or miss here. Sometimes you will get a worker that really knows what he’s talking about and will steer you in the right direction. Other times when you ask a question, you are pretty much on your own to figure it out. more

Back when McLendon's had just one store, in Renton, they used to advertise that if they don't have it, you don't need it. The saying is still true today. The staff is well-trained and knowledgeable -- much more so than at the national chain hardware stores. If you need something to do a little fix-up around the house, McLendon's is a fantastic alternative to the national chains. more
