I've been seeing Maureen for 2 years or so, and I am more impressed with each visit. I look forward to them. \r
\r
I'm something of an athlete, although with no real background as such, so my body understanding is evolving and my treatment needs include but are not limited to athletic ones. I'm open-minded about treatment modalities, but I am pretty empirical about outcomes. I've had massage treatment for many years, and I wanted to add a supplemental ""alternative"" treatment. \r
\r
I was really pleased that her treatments addressed some concrete long-term problems for me: shoulder, neck, periphormice (sp?), foot, and sleep problems as well as helped me run 3 marathons in 2 years and heal a sprained MCL! Try getting your MD's insurance to help you do that ;-)\r
\r
She's a great listener; seeks mutual understanding of the problem; can customize treatments to your needs and comfort-levels; and, she takes insurance (she did 2 years ago, but I don't have any, so I pay cash). She helped me be fearless about getting needles in my feet! That's good - crazy, but good. \r
\r
I believe she has backgrounds in exercise, body movement, and community-based public health, as well as being bi-lingual, so she can ""meet you"" in most any place/space you want to work with her, metaphorically speaking: physical, energy, or spiritual. \r
\r
Her office is calm and groovy in a cool neighborhood accessible by bus, train, and car. Very nice, but real, too. \r
\r
So yea, Maureen is All That. Call her now!
Pros: Office, her confident feel for the tools, good listener
Cons: Multiple private rooms are in use at one time, so her timing of appnts can be off occasionally
