Matt Umanov Guitars

At May 26 we visited Umanov shop, hoping to buy two acoustic guitars by 5k.My friend and colleague John start to play at one guitar to check it (not so good, IMHO, i'm personally like other guitar, but it doesn't matter). He's playing pretty well! But after a minute or so, one of the managers (i'm sure, some of the junior managers, who's never gets any higher because of his unclean look and rude attitude, someone with dirty white hair and fish eyes) come to us and say, quoting: "This is not the place for the Jam sessions, it's store" (and how do we suppose to choose instrument?!) John continue to play quietly, but soon manager (he's got a hangover or something maybe) comes again and say "It's time to go". Ridiculous! I'm was really shoked. We are all good loking persons trying to buy good guitars and we was kicked out from guitar store for playing guitar! So what about: "and we hope to provide an atmosphere that is unhurried, honest, and informative, and in which you can make that important decision". How do you suppose to sell guitars in that way?! Anyway, we're buy our two guitars plus Grenn Bullet mic at AMR store and we get a nice treatment there so now i'm plannig to write about that ridiculous situation everywhere and tell to all my friends mucisians not to visit Umanov by any reason and go straight to AMR. more

Friends told me to watch out for the big attitude here. This place may have been something years ago but it was a waste of time totally.Better prices and service at GC.My first and last visit. more

Matt's is a great place to find new and used guitars and a nice place to spend some time checking out the merchandise (no stairway please!). Located on a busy street in the west village, Umanov's is where the pros come to play and buy. They have a great selection of guitars for all ages and a sound room where you can play to your heart's content (or until they tell you, that you're having too much fun). The salespeople are friendly and will give you time ti indulge. In addition to selling guitars, they also offer repairs. more
