Mary's BBQ is Great! 3/6/2008

Mary's is da bomb! I miss it so much! I lived in Nashville for about 20 years and it is great. It is truly a wonderful place to eat. The food is always up to par. It may not look like much on the outside, but man they can cook. more

Friendly Atmosphere 12/30/2006

We love Mary's! My family was driving through Nashville and asked someone at an exit where to find a BBQ joint. They directed us to Mary's. I had small children and didn't think I'd want them to eat inside but once inside it was VERY clean. I thought the rib sandwich was expensive but then I saw it. It was a hige portion. My family enjoyed the corn bread and all the sides. The owners even gave my husband and son a tour of their smokehouse. The ribs may have been average but I enjoyed that the meat wasn't smothered in sauce but the flavor was smoked into the meat itself. very friendly and very clean! \r more

Mary's Barbcue 9/6/2006

I just ate my first Barbque Sandwich at Mary's. I was appalled that for $4.00 a sandwich they charge .50 extra for slaw. The Sandwich should be more like $3.00 and the Slaw should come with it free. The HOT Sauce was super hot! All in all this is NOT the greatest Barbque Sandwich, but then again, it's not the worst. However, there really isn't too many places in Nashville to get what I consider anything more than average Barbque anyway. Keep trying. Cons: They charge way too much for a Sandwich which isn't worth what it cost. more

Satisfying that late night hunger 11/11/2002

24-Hr barbecue-what a marvelous innovation! We stopped by around 10 P.M. on a weeknight and ordered pork sandwiches with slaw. I ate and ate and ate. My friend was sweating from the hot sauce-and grinning. We consider ourselves connoiseurs and this establishment delivers. Be aware that the later you get there, the more likely that the 'sides' will disappear. I was miffed to find that the corn cakes were sold out as were several other items. We had pork shoulder sandwiches and ribs were available, but the rest had already been sold. Note: novices should stick with the mild sauce. Pros: hours, food more

niot as good as I thought in the South 8/6/2002

I have only eaten at Mary's twice, and I was only semi-impressed. The rib tips were not done, very tough. The shoulder sandwich, however, was pretty good. I'm sad to report that there is no place in Nashville to get some good BBQ-ued ribs. I look forward to going home to Chicago to eat at Kenny's or Damon's for real ribs! more
