I attended a function at the Marriott and was pleased with the experience. I have not been in any of the hotel rooms, but the entrance and banquet rooms were beautiful. The affair was expertly handled: cash bar was well-stocked and staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Prices were ridiculuous but that was to be expected.
Dinner was also expertly handled. There was plenty of staff on hand to ensure the whole room was served in a very short period of time. The staff was quick to refill glasses and bread and offer assistance in the serving of the whole meal. I was surprised that we were offered several entree choices ahead of time (salmon, chicken, steak) considering the varied cooking temperatures for each meal. I was very pleasantly surprised by the presentation and guality of the food. Each meal was elaborately prepared and plated and served with efficiency.
The same efficiency and expertise was applied to table clearing and dessert/coffee service. Our presentation (it was an awards banquet) started while some were still nibbling dessert and sipping coffee, but the wait staff did not detract at all from the ambience or presentation.
During dinner, a three piece combo played nice music and it was really a well-put together event. I would definitely recommend having a special event hosted at the Marriott.
