Awful! Avoid! Avoid! 4/9/2014

I would give this 0 stars if I could. I made the mistake of letting an apprentice there do my highlights. I was told she was very experienced and about to get a chair. Well, let's hope not, because instead of the subtle highlights I asked for, I have bright orange streaks. The apprentice was supposed to be supervised, but instead, the colorist who was training her was busy texting. When I complained, the salon manager said another apprentice could fix it. Are they nuts? When an apprentice wrecks hair, a senior person should step in and fix it. The rude treatment after they ruined my hair and refusal to fix their mistake shows what an unprofessional salon this is. AVOID. more

Mario Prices 8/8/2009

Since Elizabeth Arden bought Mario out the prices have gone up twice. IT IS expensive now, and not the posh E.A. Try Oakbrook, it is much quieter than the city. The city will soon go the way of the other good spa's that have closed recently. There is to much competition to remain in business as a second rate run place with their prices. Shape up Mario! more

thickening cream , orange stuff 6/18/2009

this stuff was the best out there , and i mean was like a year ago . since then the company has WATERED DOWN the product making it NON-THICKENING CREAM , Tricoci should change the name to WATERED DOWN CREAM , and doing that wouldnt even give it justice . to make a long story short i have been purchasing this cream product for 8 yrs and this is the worse and watered down it has ever been YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE WAY YOU USED TO MAKE THIS PRODUCT , A.S.A.P. OR NO ONE WILL PURCHASE THIS ANYMORE , THANKS, A LOYAL CUSTOMERS THOUGHTS more

Hate the salon but love one hair stylist! 8/28/2008

Ok I went here once given a gist certificate. I have to say the people that work here are rude except one person. His name is Dante, he is awesome, friendly and totally does not fit into this environment as far as personality. He does although fit in by doing an outstanding job. He is so fantastic that I keep coming back to him even though I hate the attitude at this salon. You should check this place out just to meet him. more

she did not seem to know what she was doing 4/29/2008

I decided that I wanted a perm. I figured I would go to a high class place to make sure it gets done right. When the girl that did my hair arrived she did not seem interested in answering my questions. She just said, “You will love it”. Still skeptical I moved forward with the process. After the perm was done I had to ask her how to style it. (I should not have had to ask for the price I was paying). She gave me a regular brush. I found out shortly after I started that you never use a regular brush after having your hair permed. While she was trying to style my hair, she kept saying that the hair dryers sucked and that she needed a diffuser. I was suppressed that a place that charges so much should be able to afford hair dryers that work and a 2$ diffuser. Silly me for thinking a place that is so well known in Woodfield Mall next to Lord and Tailor would be professional? more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! 4/5/2007

I just had the worst massage of my life. I was excited to use a gift cert. for the signature massage and I couldn't be more disappointed. The music in the massage room was too loud--I heard people talking loudly outside in the hallway and the massage itself was extremely mediocre. I suspect the masseuse was either not trained or very poorly trained. Her strokes were very fast and abrupt and the whole massage felt very rushed. She didn't really tuck the sheets properly when working on different parts of my body (I felt exposed at times) I have had better massages from massage school students and even from my untrained boyfriend. Do not go to Diana---she's AWFUL!! In addtion, the entire staff at mario tricoci are very rude and unprofessional. I will never go there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Expensive 6/2/2006

I got my haircut and blowdried from here once. They charged me a lot! It was like around 60 dollars. It was a real rip off. I expeceted more from them. I could have gotten a haircut like that from somewhere else for much less the price. The girl that cut my hair was pretty friendly. It is easy to set up an appointment, but you should do it ahead of time because they do get real booked up here. I know that they do real nice nails here..my friends get them done from here all the time. But it is expensive. more

Expensive, but worth it 5/31/2006

This place is pretty expensive, but I got a gift certificate from here that covered my hair cut. Overall, I think my hair stylist did a good job. She really listened to what I wanted here to do and was careful the entire time and made sure to get my feedback. I have had some bad experiences with hair cuts before, but the stylist here was great and did an awesome job. Now for my next hair cut, I must save and save so I can afford to pay the sixty plus dollars to get my hair done!! more

Great Gift 5/27/2006

This place has gift certificates, which are going to cost you, but make for great presents. I have given these out to lots of my family members and they always go across as the perfect present. This is a nice place to sit back and get pampered for an hour or so. more

Okay Place 3/16/2006

I'm not really a big fan of this salon. I think there are many other salons where you can get better service for the price you pay here. For one, their stylists can be very stubborn. Last time I went in, I specifically asked for a certain color for my highlights and she did another instead. I was not happy. Plus, they charge insane amounts for hair cuts (which they are not all that great at either). If I were you, I would keep my money and check out some of the other numerous salons in the city for a better deal that will leave you looking better too. more

Good location... 9/28/2005

...near the Magnificent Mile. This is definitely a place to treat yourself after a long day of shopping in one of Chicago's best shopping districts. The staff is super friendly and nice, and are so helpful when trying to decide which of the myriad of treatments you desire. Would definitely recommend. more

Great haircut, okay highlights 8/23/2005

I went to Mario Tricoci on Michigan Avenue on short-notice for a haircut and highlight. I didn't care for my colorist. The highlights were expensive and they were just okay. I've paid much less for much more elsewhere. Not to mention, she wasn't that friendly. However, I had the most amazing haircut with a stylist named Petronka. I've never paid that much for a haircut, but I will tell you that every penny was worth it! The cut was easy to style and grew out well. If only I could afford her every 6 weeks! more

Expensive Salon 8/19/2005

They do good work on hair and body but its super expensive! I usually am dissapointed when I go here at the way they cut my hair because they aren't really attentive to what you want, sometimes they just do what they feel would look best, and thats annoying! Other than the hair stuff, their other services are pretty good and the ambiance of the place is great. more

great hair 6/24/2005

This salon is a nice place to go for any hair service. They do a decent job and most times you don't even need to have an appointment. They usually do not have long wait times and most of the people there are professional and good at what they are doing. They will listen to what you want, make reccommendations, and you will most likely go home happy! more
