Best

Friendly bar and restaurant, featuring made to order sandwiches, pizza, salads and homemade potato chips. Great sports viewing and entertainment. Kitchen open to 2am... opens at ...

Worst

The only reason to go in here is to meet your friends. There is nobody in there and you can get out as fast as you got in.

Small, but solid 5/7/2009

The food is solid - the chili cheese fries are amazing and the burgers are charred to perfection. Cheap tacos (25 cents), great wings, and great prices (nice drink specials). The atmosphere and the lighting leave a lot to be desired, but the food and the prices made up for it. Pretty good music too. Pros: Prices, taste Cons: Atmosphere, slow service more

The worst experience in years 7/11/2002

I admit the first time I went in 1996, it wasn't too bad (although that bug crawling across the bar kinda put me off). Yesterday (6/13/02) we went after hitting a couple of other bars and my wife wanted a Margarita. First, we got charged $2 each at the door cover charge for I don't know what! There was no band getting ready or anything.....all I can think of is they wanted to make up the loss from the cheap drinks they were having from 9-11, but it was only 8pm at the time. An 8oz Margarita in a plastic cup and an 8oz Diet Coke cost us $6.00....I still feel violated and so strongly about that horrible place I had to write this first thing this morning. Pros: We didn't get mugged Cons: Dirty, Dark, Overpriced more

Editorial

  • The Scene
Frozen drinks, a menu rife with foods from south of the border and pinatas-galore feed the beach-party feeling. Not surprisingly, the staff has a religious devotion to the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on the subject of sanctioning by Mr. Buffett. A perpetual festive air hangs over both the more sedate Smugglers Cove that caters to the lunch crowd and the raucous bar side that panders to more fluid forms of sustenance.

    The Food

Keeping company with the obligatory cheeseburger in paradise is a great spread of Mexican inspired dishes, as well as the best wings on the South Side.

    Who's There?

Locals, regular commuters, those looking to live happily ever after every now and then. Karaoke and a jukebox supply the tunes.
