Great Time @ Mardi Gras 2/17/2011

My family visited last week and had a great time bowling. We also went to a birthday party there that was very fun. The staff was friendly and the DJ was very interactive with the kids. I will return to this bowling center! more

Good place to bowl 9/12/2005

There aren't a lot of options as far as bowling goes in Durham, but Mardi Gras is a good one. It's bright, with a family atmosphere. Mardi Gras is a good place to have a kid's birthday party or a night out with the family. Personally, I often find the crowd that hangs out around bowling alleys to be a little scary--but this place is very clean and oriented toward good family fun. There's no beer served here, so you don't have to worry about the drunken bowling league in the next lane. They usually have some sort of "midnight bowling". more

Good family place 8/20/2005

Personally I like my bowling alleys with that stale beer smell and a miasma of smoke hanging over the lanes and that's what you get at Mardi Gras. It's a family oriented place--sometimes have glowing lights, there's a bright color scheme, music, etc. If you want a more hardcore professional bowling feel, go to the AMC or somewhere else. If you want to have a kid's birthday party, Mardis Gras is a great place for it(there's also an arcade) more

good fun, but no beer 8/18/2005

Mardi Gras is the "newer" bowling alley in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. The prices are fine, it can get a little crowded, and there's usually some kind of night time bowling special going on with blacklights. Good place to take kids for birthday parties. Your alternative is the Fairlanes in Durham, which is also a good place to bowl and was recently rebuilt after a fire. if it had beer it would be great. more
