Horrible Experience w Dr Marcus 3/30/2010

I have been receiving psychiatric care for approximately 14 years. Dr. Marcus is one of the most rude and callous professionals I have ever seen. He hardly cares about how you are feeling but he is very much concerned about money. He spends approx. 5 minutes with you. If you try to engage him, he seems annoyed, as if you are wasting his time. I once saw him at his Boston ""office"" where there is no support staff, just the dr in a large room in a brownstone in BackBay. He did not have receipts or any change, but had no problem taking my $20 for my copay. He pretty much demanded the money, saying he could make change at my next appointment, instead of simply sending me a bill from his office. I felt like he did not even give me the option of asking to do that. It felt weird that a dr. would just take your money, throw it in their briefcase and not offer you a receipt. He also questioned my diagnosis in a very sarcastic way--even though it seems perfect to me and comes from a well known expert in this field. However, he did not suggest a new dignosis or new medication or ask me any other questions. There are so many health care professionals in MA do not waste your time with this man. more

Avoid Linda Cahill, Nurse Practitioner 10/31/2007

This is my first time writing a review. Today I visited Marcus Associates for the first time. I had an appointment, and my insurance had cleared. This was the worst experience, and I have never been treated so inappropriately by a professional. I went for medication management with Linda Cahill. Upon meeting she was instantly curt, and rude. She insisted my insurance was not accepted and that I should go somewhere else. She asked me a few background questions, and then again recommended I go somewhere else. She told me to go to McClane hospital. I told her that I have no transportation and she told me to get a ride with friends or family. I told her I have no family in the area, and she said , ""well don't you have any friends?"" We spent the entire session debating my location of residence, and upon learning that I had no access to the orange line, she said, and I quote ""that i should move."" By this point I was disgusted. I was basically begging for help because I could go nowhere else, and she kept telling me in no so many words that she had no interest in helping me. I finally asked her if she would take my case, and she told me to go back to the place I was receiving help before. I then said, are you rejecting my case? And she said yes. I told her that what she was doing was highly unethical, and she said, and I quote ""I don't have to help anyone I don't want to."" \r After learning of my depression, cutting, and anxiety, this ""nurse"" refused to help me, and happily let me leave her office. This is absolutely not how you treat someone with sensitive issues, and i am appalled by her lack of concern. \r I plan to file formal complaints, as I already have with my insurance provider. What she did was unethical, and I am concerned that other people will fall victim to her behavior.\r If you have a choice do not see this woman. She is obviously in the wrong field and seeing her would only do you a great disservice more
