Enchiladas and Plastic Monkeys! 6/20/2007

Maracas has a really festive atmosphere. It's like Mexican Christmas in there. Great drink specials, very good food (I especially like the enchiladas... get the sampler entree with three different kinds), and a young and perky wait staff. On weekends the draw is the brunch with unlimited brunch drinks, but during the week, Gringo Bingo on Tuesday and Karaoke on Wednesday bring something different to the place. THE BEST FAJITAS EVER! 3/9/2007

We walked by and saw the disco lights from the street. The place was packed with big groups of parties. We had a drink at the bar - Great frozen margaritas! For dinner we shared some great queso fundido, chipotle mixed grill and cripy nachos - All very good! For dinner we had traditional Mexican with huge burritos and some of the best sizzling fajitas I ever had. The place was full of birthdays and the party rolled on. Lot of Fun!!! Great Great Great!!! 3/9/2007

My friends and I discovered this restaurant stopping by last Saturday! There was a beautiful host and also a very funny friendly Manager that right away even with full house he seated us in a very comfortable table. We were served by jingi (sorry) and he was great!!! There was 4 birthdays parties over there and with la bamba and other songs we had a great great fun!!! The very strong Margaritas were delicious as the Manager recommended, ""try the strawberry and mango, because there are make with fresh fruit"" and it really was!!!! The food was great! ..But the most amazing thing was all the employees, manager, bartender were having a good time, dancing, making jokes and taking care of the tables!!! We definably will be back and I totally recommend this place!!!!!! Pros: Was a terrific surprise! Cons: Everybody suppose to visit this great funny restaurant!! more

Good food, bad service! 8/4/2006

The food was great and the 'ritas are cheap. But they advertise $3 margaritas on Mondays from 12pm to 12am. It's just not true. They don't even open till 4pm. When I asked the managment why they were still advertising noon they could only repeat over and over that they open at 4pm. So they're clearly not too bright. But, like I said, the food is good. The night life is fun. Just don't plan on any luch meetings with the girls. Pros: Fun Cons: Bad managment more

Over a year ago I went with a friend to Maraca's uptown location for dollar margarita's. My friend and I enjoyed delicious drinks and some of the best guacomole we had tasted. Margaritas are good, no question about it. The food isn't as good as some other places. The restaurant has a fun and festive atmosphere, if the food were better I'd be more inclined to return. One of my favorite place lost their liquor license and I'm looking for good Mexican food with margaritas in the neighborhood, I know where to go in Hell's Kitchen but still searching in the Village. It is tasteless all the way around - gaudy decor, bland food, unimpressive drinks. Enchiladas were awful, rice was undercooked. I will never go back. more

WATCH THE MARGARITAS! They are SUPER strong - When the tequila disco lights go on you know the party has started! The food was great! Enchiladas fabulous and the Ancho tuna HUGE and well cooked! As soon as you walk into this restaurant you feel like a good time is going to be had! Everyone is wearing a smile and is having a great time in this hidden find in Midtown. The food is always fresh, the staff very attentive and friendly plus willing to give great recommendations!
