I'm comparing 2 locations. I first went to the Tates Creek location when a friend came down from Chicago. Although, the service was great the food was less than acceptable. It's a steakhouse that couldn't get the choice preparation right. Medium well doesn't me cutting into it and it bleeding all over the plate. Yes, they were apologetic but I mean really. So Mother's day I chose to give them a second chance. I sat in Drakes because they were so busy and I had no reservation. My section didn't have 5 full tables and it took quite a while for the server to attempt service. Maybe that was because she was busy chit chatting. Then I watched another employee with a arm full of silverware drop about 6 on the floor, which was nasty, and another employee pick them up and place them back in her arms. Yuck. I watched a manager walk by me at least a half dozen times that never once asked about my dining experience or I would have told him. Now let's talk food. Savory Tavern Wings was simply so much black pepper dumped into the breading it was uncomfortable. Savory means flavorful not pretty tasteless and full of fat. My blue cheese burger was missing the "savory" bacon. I've honestly had better, more flavor, juicer burgers from Steak and Shake prepared by a line cook. Shame on you executive chef letting that crud come out of your kitchen. Then it took another 10-15 minutes to get my check after I asked for it. Tates creek will never get another penny of my money. You need to take a lesson from your Palomar location. Service is the same poor but the food at Palomar location I have no complaints. Shame, Shame, Shame on you Tates Creek!!!! My son only wanted to take me to a nice place for Mother's Day. Oh, let me add I ordered from the Malone's menu. I guess if we're not celebrity enough to sign a menu we don't deserve great food or service. I truly felt bad for my son for having spent that money for such a substandard situation. Both dining experiences at Tates Creek location were abominable.
