The basil rolls are delicious!

Worst

They completely messed up our order. None of the entrees came as they should have. It was very disappointing.

Editorial review from GrubHub 1/7/2014

The food is competently made (at least, what I usually order, which is one of the pad thai style noodles), and exits the kitchen quickly. It's expensive, but can't expect more given the location. Useful for the occasional craving. more

Great tasting, cheap, and large portions 5/15/2010

Hidden away in a bland strip mall, this is the best Asian food in Atlanta. What is even more incredible, it's cheap and they deliver. The owners are very friendly, and they will remember your name and favorite meals as soon as they've met you more than once. The Singapore Noodles is the best noodle dish they have. Incredible flavor and tons of ingredients. Pros: Price, taste, options, portions Cons: Location more

Best restaurant in atlanta on a budget 5/10/2009

Malaya offers a wide variety of entrees at an affordable price. I have noticed that the owners have not only memorized my name and usual order, by remember most of their returning customers. Their vegetarian options are delicious and plentiful. The only con is that they are located in a strip mall that is kind of out of the way...but it is nice that it's not always packed. Pros: Affordable pricing, vegetarian friendly, large portions Cons: location more

Great tasting Thai, Malaysian food, Very friendly and welcoming service staff, intimat environment, and great on the wallet 10/8/2008

Malaya, has a very warm and friendly environment. The establishment is managed by a real gentleman; friendly in his swagger, has an air of charm, which makes the visit to the restaurant much more enjoyeable. He is defintiely the personality of the place. The food is very flavorful. The restaurant provides for a nice lunch atmosphere, allowing one to have nice conversatioin and a great meal in under an hour. more

Bizarre but Good 9/8/2008

I have been here several times in the past 6 months. We continue to go because the dumplings are delicious and the main courses are great as well. However, we have had strange experiences with the staff. Our party asked for a wine/beer list and told there was none. We saw other patrons driking beer at their table and expressed our confusion. The waitress acted as if she didn't understand our questions and just kept smiling and shrugging. We asked if we could buy our own wine at the liquor store across the street. Again, the same response. After purchasing wine and bringing it into the restaurant we saw the staff serving other customers beer from behind the bar. When our waitress came to uncork and pour our wine she filled huge styrofoam cups nearly to the brim with our wine. The food was good but the staff is confusing and unhelpful. more

Basil chicken and shrimp roll was ok. The sauce was awesome though. I did not prefer the Roti, not sure if I knew what it was when I ordered it, so that could have been the problem. The Pad Thai was NOT good. I love Pad Thai and was really excited to try it, but there was something a bit off about it. Like they forgot a key ingredient. With these 3 misses aside, the Laksa Lemak was AMAZING! So good! Will definitely return for this dish! more

No quality control. There is no excuse for the bad food. 11/24/2007

This restaurant is the reason I have given up on delivery oriental food in Atlanta. In the past, it has been wonderful, but tonight. . . there is NO excuse for that food ever leaving the kitchen. Clearly, Malaya has very bad quality control problems. Our Mongolian beef was so horribly burned that it was inedible, and a simple visual inspection of it prior to the dish leaving the kitchen would have easily spotted this. The Nam Sod was also disgusting. It had no spice to it, tasted like they used artificial lime juice, and I don't believe they used even a drop of fish sauce. Malaya's Nam Sod is more like a sickeningly sweet candied beef than is the real dish. The curry I ordered was also sub par for this restaurant. The Hot and Sour soup was nearly flavorless. A very bad delivery experience. I cannot recommend against this restaurant heavily enough. If Malaya will serve the Mongolian beef they sent us, I can only imagine what horribly dangerous and spoiled seafood they would be willing to send out. Pros: A wonderfully diverse menu, fast delivery and in restaurant service, good prices. Cons: No quality control and bad food make this a crapshoot at best. Why gamble with your life? more

Great food, great service 10/6/2006

Since I discovered this place I have been going there many times - it has become ""comfort food"" for my wife and I. The food is great, the portions are generous, and the service is great. After going there only a few times they already know us and ask us how we've been, etc... I highly recommend this place for its value and friendly atmosphere. Pros: Great value (food, portions, service) more
