I couldn't reccomend the high enough. If it weren't for the caring staff and treatment of both my dogs Buddy and Buster, they wouldn't be with me today. Dr. Molesworth is a truly caring Dr. who treats the animals as if they were his own. I'm never going anywhere else! more

I highly recommend Main Street Vet. Dr. Molesworth is the MOST COMPASSIONATE veterinarian I have ever met. He cares so deeply for your pet (I have 2 dogs) and is sensible and very experienced. He will not price gouge you ever! It is such a comfort to know your animals will be cared for by an honest and knowledgeable person. There normally is a wait when you visit, but that's because people who know vets and love their pets want them cared for by the best. more

I agree about the staff. They only want your money and be careful to check what they are charging for. Do not let them bully you. I take my dog to Dr. Molesworth due to his reputation. I waited 2 hours to get my cats update on bloodwork. Cats get very stressed, especially because everyone ignores the 'cat side only' sign. Any other vet, don't hesitate to get a second opinion. My back-up is Falls Road Animal Hosp. Oh and don't forget to sign in to pick up some food! more

MR. MOLESWORTH SAVED MY DOGS LIFE THANK YOU <3 4/26/2012

MY PITBULL IS 4 MONTHS OLD AND HE HAD GOTTEN REALLY SICK. HE WAS THROWING UP AND DIARRHEA BADLY. I TOOK HIM TO A LOCAL ANIMAL HOSPITAL THEY DID BLOOD WORK AND FECAL TEST AND TOLD ME HE HAD PARVO. HE WAS ADMITTED RIGHT AWAY. THEY STARTED HIM ON THE IV. I GOT CHARGED $600 FOR ONE DAY FOR HAVING HIM THERE AND THE NEXT MORNING IT WAS ANOTHER $500. AFTER THAT I WAS DONE, I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY MORE FUNDS. I MAXED OUT MY CREDIT CARD. I'M ONLY 24 AND I LOVE MY DOG. I DIDN'T WANT HIM TO DIE OR SUFFER. SO I WAS REFERED TO MR. MOLESWORTH BY A FRIED AND HE HELPED AND GAVE ME SUCH A GOOD DEAL. I RECOMMENED EVERYONE GO TO HIM. HE IS A CARING GUY WHO LOVES DOG. AND WILL DO ANYTHING FOR THEM. THANK YOU SO MUCH MR. MOLESWORTH. more

LOVE DR MOLESWORTH! 5/31/2011

I have had awesome experiences there. Dr. Molesworth is a very caring vet. He definitely loves animals and it shows. He has ALWAYS treated me very fairly. I travel an hour just to see him even when I have a vet that is 10 mins down the road. Trust is important when it comes to our pets, and I truly TRUST him. His fees are also extremely reasonable. I could go on, but I definitely say 5+ stars :) more

Dr. Molesworth, you rock! 5/28/2011

He is my all time favorite vet. I have been reading reviews and it is a shame this office is getting poor ratings based on the office staff. They are not bad! Busy, but I never had or witnessed rudeness from them. Regardless, the reason we would be going is for the best care for our pets which Mainstreet vet provides, hands down. The prices are extremely fair. To the point I often feel I should tip or take Dr.Molesworth a gift or something. I doubt he would accept, so this is the least i can do. 5 stars is not enough! more

The best Vetinarians ever 5/28/2011

I travel almost an hour to them and wont go anywhere else. my bulldog had artificial insemenation done there. As a result my female had 4 beautiful blue olde english bulldogge puppies. Dr. Molesworth is the very best. He truely cares. He does what needs to be done and nothing more. Often he does what needs to be done at no additional charge. It gets busy over there, but a busy vet office reflects great service. A++++ vet! more

Needs new Staff! 5/19/2011

My cat ended up being diagnosed with a broken pelvis after leaving here and going elsewhere...the front desk staff was downright rude, dismissive, cold and arrogant they had absolutely no concern for the pet, your questions you had or your money! They portrayed they wanted you to do as your told and ask NO questions. I will never ever go back nor will we ever recommend them to anyone. I don't care what the vets credentials are when I know that there is no caring person in that office. I will not ""tolerate"" any of that for anyone nor would I stoop to tolerate knowing they dont care at all for your pet. If the vets read these reviews and do nothing your business is short lived. Never would I leave my pet in their hands. In this economy...good luck! more

THE BEST DOC WITH THE WORST STAFF 3/14/2011

We have been taking our animals to see Dr.Moleswoth now for over six years he is great, and even when backed up will still try and take time to answer your questions. THE CONS: minus the long waits and the bad, rude, ignorant front desk staff it has been mostly a good relationship. You love your animals enough that you rationalize and tolerate it. knowing each time your going to have to wait and deal with attitudes regardless if you have an appointment or not. I DONT THINK HE REALIZES JUST HOW BAD THEY REALLY ARE COLLECTIVELY. MAYBE SOMEDAY HE WILL. more

Dr. Molesworth - Love the man 11/17/2010

Dr. Molesworth has been our vet for 25+ years. Throughout those 25 years our pets have tested his knowledge and skills and he has always been up to the test - passed with A+ In the past year, I rushed my best friend Jake to his office. He had accidentally been speared with the point bar on our tractor. To add to the complications of the injury, Jake was 13 years old. Dr. M told me it was very serious (a 50/50 chance of survival) but he would try. He operated on Jake and to our amazement, most of his vital organs had escaped major damage. His recovery was further complicated by the onset of Pancreatitis. After treatment, Jake responded and is fully recovered. I cannot say enough about Dr. Molesworths skill and compassion for the animals he treats. He understands the emotional attachment the owners/families have to their beloved pets. We can never thank him enough for Jake's life and the care he has given to all out pets throughout the years. Thanks Dr. M more

Not so great 9/15/2010

Well I took my cat there for a simple UTI. Should have been quick and painless, I have been down this road before. They wanted to keep him overnight for ""observation"" so I said fine, even though they couldn't find any blockage on the X-ray and his bladder was not hard. I was told I would only be charged around $150. Long story short, they kept dragging out the time they kept him and kept him for 4 DAYS, just for ""observation"" while they waited for test results. Um, they have an in-house lab, it DOES NOT TAKE 4 DAYS to get a urinalysis result. Then when I finally come to get my cat the bill is $300! They were supposed to authorize any additional tests with me, but I was NEVER NOTIFIED OF ANYTHING beyond the initial X-ray and urinalysis. Suddenly there's a bill for cultures and blood work, plus boarding fees, then the meds they prescribed. I expected to be billed for meds but since they just kept him for 3 extra days without my okaying it I was really shocked they would just continue to charge me. I was like WTF I can't pay this and they were like well then you will have to leave the cat here. Seriously. So I paid up but I AM NOT going back there. The vet I used to go to in Texas never ever ever charged me this much or kept him over night for a simple UTI. Also they prescribed maybe an antibiotic and a diuretic which cleared the problem super quick...but these people gave me an antibiotic, a steroid, and some medicine that is NOT EVEN APPROVED for use in animals. They had given it to him just before I came to get him, and by the time I got him home he could barely walk, was shaking and wobbly and breathing rapidly. Yeah so I am not giving that to him anymore. Don't go here if you want to pay a reasonable price and don't want your pet to go through unnecessary stress. There are plenty of vets in the MD area who won't over charge you, lie to you, or refuse to do their due diligence. I was never informed of the side effects of the medicines they prescribed, i had to look them up. I didn't have Molesworth, it was one of his staff, so I don't know if he's all he's cracked up to be, but if you absolutely must go to this clinic you'd better tell them you will see no one but Molesworth. The vet I had was an associate and she basically just ran whatever test she wanted, didn't ask me beforehand and I got stuck with a huge bill, and she never updated me on my cat's health or status or anything while she was keeping him for 3 days longer than she was supposed to. If I wanted to know if he was ok I had to call. And I would pay anything to keep my baby healthy, but at the same time I do not need to go to a vet who only sees clients and their animals as cash opportunities. Only good thing was they saw me the same day I called and I didn't have to wait long in the office the day I took him in...I guess I made up for it in waiting time while they were holding my cat hostage and running unnecessary tests. more

Travel 40mi each way to go here.. there's a reason.. 6/1/2010

Dr Molesworth and all his staff are exceptional. I've never found the front desk staff rude, or anything of the sort. This is the only place I know where I can an appointment for next day. And all the prices even for surgery are way lower than any vet. Anyone who doesnt go here because of wait time, not liking staff is someone that must be hard to make happy. Pros: Service is good.. Prices are very very good. more

The best and the worst in one place... 4/1/2010

It's hard to imagine such great vets and such horrible front desk staff. I don't get it. The front desk staff could not be ruder if they tried. I am sorely tempted to find a new vet due to the front desk staff but I would really rather not do that. Please....you need 100% new employees at your front desk. I know this sounds harsh but nothing less will do it. Pros: Good doctors Cons: Front desk staff is unreal....over the top rude more

Best Dr.. RUDE IGNORANT SECRETARIES!!! 3/31/2010

Without a doubt Dr. Molesworth is the best, and without a doubt his secretaries are the worst. I have spoken to many people that stop going there because of the girls out front. There are too many good people looking for work and its a shame to deal with such rudeness and such attitudes. We dont come there because we are looking for a dress, we come there because our pet is sick and the last thing we need is an attitude because we came there... Dr Molesworth.. a little advice.. GET RID OF THE CRAP YOU HAVE IN THE FRONT AND REPLACE THEM... its very easy to do. Pros: Dr Molesworth Cons: ALL HIS FRONT HELP more

Old Fashioned Top Quality 3/4/2010

Dr. Molesworth is a saint. When my mother-in-law's pet came home from an operation, he called her HOME just to ask if her dog was doing okay and if she had any questions/concerns. My mother-in-law said she wishes her own personal physician would care half as much! When we first got our puppy, the office even took a few things off our bill here and there because we were in there so frequently in the beginning. Yeah, I've been in there for long waits and once I was even forgotten! But they are soo busy and it's because everyone knows what great care the staff gives to our pets. Pros: understanding, kind, inexpensive, like a family doc more

best care for our dog by Dr. Molesworth 12/14/2009

He was very caring and took great care of our dog Nick, who had been to other vet's office and not cured until seen by Dr. Molesworth. He was very compassionte and caring and his follow up was very caring and compassionate. When I called his office to get a status on our dog, his office staff was very efficient, and courteous. Highly recommend Dr. Molesworth. It would be a different story as happens at other doctors offices when you wait because they are not in the office, not the case with Dr. Moleworth, if you have to wait, it is because he is seeing other dogs, remember Dr. Molesworth is only one person, who's #1 priority is the care of the dog or cat, he truly cares for animals! So next time you wait for excellent care for your precious dog, be grateful that great doctors still exist in MD, such as Dr. Molesworth! Pros: compassionate, caring, very efficient more

By far the BEST there is.... 11/24/2009

My family has been going to Main Street Veterinary Hospital for over 20yrs...and NEVER will you find a better, more understanding doctor, as Dr. Molesworth. Whenever any animal of our family has had to stay overnight for test, observation, surgery, etc...without fail, he has called each time in the evening after checking on them, and again, first thing in the morning to give you an update. Pros: Dr. Molesworth is OUTSTANDING!! Reasonable prices Cons: NONE that I have encountered. more

If you love your pet... 11/17/2009

I don't write reviews but in this case I'm making an exception. I can't believe some of these reviews. Wake up and stop sniveling at petty inconveniences like you have to wait, staff not nice, etc. You are there to get your pet the best medical attention possible and that's why you seek out Eddie Molesworth. He cares about your dog, not you. He's not treating you, he is healing your friend and companion. This man deserves your respect, patience and admiration, not gripes about how long it takes to see him or the manners of his assistants. I don't go there to be catered to: I go there because my friend deserves the best medical treatment I can get for him. Pros: No better Vet anywhere Cons: nothing serious enough to mention more

What you really don't see at Main Street Vet.. 8/25/2009

I am writing in defence for Dr. Molesworth. I worked for him for 15 months and can tell you alot of pros and cons and what you really don't see from the waiting room. I am not defending the rudeness of the receptionist, there is no excuse, especially when the customer is the bread and butter of the business.. Dr. Molestworth is a great Dr. hands down, may not always have the best bedside manner, but very devoted to what he does and is also a very good teacher... As far as the long wait, I can let you know he's not just standing around doing nothing while you wait. He is seeing all the"" FIT-Ins"" that he insist on his staff to put in until there is no more room to put them in.. I know this is an inconveince but rest assure if you had an emergency you would be a fit in.. He is one of the only vets in the State of Md. that I know of that has a tech on hand 24 hrs to watch over you pet if it has to stay in the hospital..I have always hated that about other vets. He is a very high demanded Dr. and is good at what he does. You decide at what price you can put on your pet care.. Excellent Dr... Fair prices, yes long waits.. Bring a good book and enjoy the side show of the pets... But give him a break...As far as Staff ,it is a highly stressfull job, not only do we deal with pet owners that want fast service and a good Dr. But a Dr that gets stressed out because there is not enogh of him to go around.. Why he goes through staff & other vets often... They can't stand the heat in the kitchen, but don't take it out on him...This is his life and he's Damn good at what he does....If I didn't live so far away, he would still be my choice of Vets... Pros: Dr. Molesworth Great Vet..very caring.. Cons: Stressfull work atmosphere for all staff.. more

Best Vet in Md. 7/23/2009

Dr Molesworth is the absolute best veterinarian. I have been taking my pets to him for decades. All you have to do is witness the way he examines. He is ""hands on"" and really connects with his patients, he's not there to see you, he's there for your pet! He answers all your questions very professionally and his diagnosis are always ""spot on"". He loves animals!! Pros: medical expertise Cons: None if you understand the wait more
