They call and leave long messages (in Spanish) on my phone, and I don't even have a policy with them. I've deleted the messages the previous times, but this time, I waited for customer service to respond and told them to remove my number from their calling list because it was on the national do-not-call list and I did NOT give them permission to call me. They said MY number was on a policy with them. That tells me that someone screwed up, because I have had that phone number for almost 4 years and only recently have been harassed by their voice mails. Someone wrote a wrong number on a policy, and this company doesn't seem to have the smarts/ability to correct the error. I do not (and based on this experience) NEVER WILL have a policy with them. I have also provided a negative review with the BBB. All I want is for MY phone number to be taken off whatever policy it got put on, because they will never reach the policy owner by using it, and for their annoying voice mails to stop. more

First everyone should understand that Magnum is an agency not a company. I asked for my towing service and for a low cost for the year was provided. The people that work there are really nice. Although, some have a bit of trouble speaking English they find a way to explain it. Or find someone to help. Their payment options are great. I had a situation that the office had already closed. I went online and found it to be very easy to make my payment online. more

I purchased an SR 22 and they never file the insurance with the secretary of the state. They stilled my money and I almost go to jail because they procrastinated in filling my insurance. more

MAGNUM INSURANCE IS ONE LF THE BEST INSURANCE AGENCIES IN ILLINOIS. THEY HAVE VERY AFFORTABLE RATES WITH GREAT COVERAGES AND SERVICE. I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR A WHILE AND IVE HAD 3 ACCIDENTS AND ALL 3 OF THEM THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ME IN SUCH A GREAT AND QUICK MANNER. I LOVR THESE PEOPLE. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! more

Costumer service is awful. They should be ashamed that sometimes the customer knows more then these people. They are just getting worse as the years go by. more

My friend was insured through Magnum (Western location). She paid a lot of money to pay for 12 months of coverage which she paid in two installments. She was recently involved in a car accident and until then, she knew she had no tow truck service and no car rental. They recommended a terrible body shop that has kept my friend's car for two weeks going on three!!! This is the first time she was involved in an accident and of course she had no idea about her options in terms of a body shop! On top of all, the insurance company claims the agent made a mistake and didn't bill her correctly. Another agent called and explained my friend had an outstanding balance. When she tried to contact her agent she was nowhere to be found. All of a sudden, she didn't return any calls, hmmmm, pretty weird! She stopped by the office to talk to her agent about the discrepancy and the iresponsible woman took the liberty to cancel my friend's policy until she paid the outstanding balance. EXCUSE ME! She made the mistake, not my friend! Bottom line, she didn't receive any type of notification letting her know about the cancellation of her policy. The agent was rude and told my friend if she wanted to have her policy reinstated she had to pay the balance! Isn't that ridiculous??? I feel bad for the large Spanish speaking market they lie to and steal from. A lot of those customers THINK they are receiving a good service, but I don't think they are! SHAME ON THEM! more

WARNING DO NOT GET A SERVICE FROM THEM!!! 1. HORRIBLE SERVICE, specially the Western location! 2. staff don't speak English. I think there is about 2-3 people that speak proper English. 3. Management is a total bad service 4. Manager is very RUDE, as she does not know how to speak English. I had to try my best to explain regarding my inquiry. 5. I agree with Jessica's comment. Magnum is the worst insurance ever! People that work there are rude, incompetent n ignorant. Plus they have supervisors that don't speak English. I never saw a sign outside that specified "Only Spanish speaking customers" They shouldn't post on their website that they have qualified- certified agents because they have poor customer skills. They should begin on Manners 101 followed by ENGLISH classes. more

A few articles ago I explained the distinction between 'real' and 'street-legal' insurance. Basically, one type, you buy, because you really want the financial protection; the other type, you buy just so that you won't get a ticket if the cops stop you. I think Magnum Insurance sort of falls more in the middle. They don't seem as dodgy and unreliable as the other low cost insurers, but they're pretty cheap nonetheless. They have a large Hispanic clientele, so if you prefer to speak Spanish you'll be able to do business in Espanol with them. A friend was insured by them for 2 years. Now, she never had a claim, so we never got to see how their customer service was like, but she has pretty low tolerance for dodginess, so the fact that she remained with them is a good thing, I suppose. I would recommend Magnum if you are looking to get insurance that may be more reliable but still won't cost you more than your car's worth. (note: you should only be the market for cheap insurance if, in fact, 'regular' insurance premiums would cost more than your car is worth) more
