Nail in your coffin salon...its really that bad 11/15/2010

My friend and I went to this salon on a whim. This whim took us on a journey so dark and depraved, I dont think we will ever recover. 1) When you walk in to an establishment and you are greeted with a look that say ""f**k you, I dont want to do anymore nails tonight"", its a bad first impression, to say the least. 2) When they put a ""scrub"" on your hands, have you wash it off in a bathroom sink and then tell you that this special treatment cost $5, you wonder why this obviously profitable scheme is still making them look at you like you have offended them. 3) Wham, bam, no thank you ma'am. Well before closing time, they sped through my manicure and even skipped portions of my friends hand massage. And talk about a bad paint job! There was nail polish all around my nails and they made NO attempt to clean it up. I have done better manicures on myself at home...on crack. 4) On top off all this, they thought my friend was trying to rip them off when she asked them to split the bill between cash and card. They put the entire bill on her card but then also kept all $10 of the cash (did she really think she was getting a ten buck tip on a $14 manicure ?!)...when she asked for the cash back, the manicurist looked at her like she was trying to ""pull a fast one"" and at first refused to give the cash back. -I walked out, mouth agape, wondering ""what the hell just happened?"" It makes you wonder when they ask for payment and tip BEFORE they have even done anything?! You pay and they they screw you over with a crap job and a big, fatty sign that says ""NO REFUNDS."" You wonder at the irony, it is some work of magic that Magic Nails is still open. more

Don't waste your time & money 6/1/2009

I went in as a walk in and they took me. They only had ONE person in the pedi chairs in back and they sat me down for mine. A second girl came around to see if I wanted a mani too, so obviously I they were not busy. BUT, they sure as hell seemed to rush through my service even though there were empty chairs and no one was waiting. The girls had really, really thick accents and I had to ask more than once for them to repeat themselves (I'm used to the accent thing but this was bad!). I agreed to do the mani and though I thought it was strange that they were going so fast, I sat back and tried to enjoy myself. One of my nails broke and the girl just filed it so that it wouldn't be sharp, but she didn't re-shape it at all so it looked nothing like the other nails! So when I paid, I paid with my Visa and I left a $5 tip (I have no idea WHY I did looking back) but when I was filling in the receipt the girl doing my pedi asked if I had $5 cash! I thought that was SO RUDE. When I left I saw that my mani was poorly done and when I got home I realized that both my mani & pedi were done so quickly that they left rough edges on my nails and my nails started to snag on things (carpet, sheets, etc). The paint on my hands started to peel that very day (!) and by the next afternoon I had one nail with full polish on it. And for some reason, since I've been there, 3 of my nails have torn and ripped off on the top. I don't know how the heck they file in that place but I won't go back there, that's for sure! That place is no place to waste your money! Go somewhere else. Seriously. Cons: rude staff, bad service, horrible mani/pedi more

They Bite! 1/30/2007

Went in for a (pink & white) fill, something was wrong with my existing nails but due to the mask and accent I was unable to understand what. She then started to take off my nails, in doing so she clipped into my own nail and cut into my finger. I tried to look at the nail and she kept grabbing my hand back. During this she also picked up the phone and talked to other techs. I then felt like I was on display as two other techs came over and stood over me during the rest of my stay. The nails I walk out with are not what I requested, they are as long as the ones I walked in with. Other customers came in I was then directed to the sink, and my jacket was taken off the chair. I felt like I was over charged for nails I didn't request and then push out the door. For something I usually take joy and relaxation from, all I took out of this was frustration and sore fingers. Disappointing 11/6/2004

I was disappointed by this salon. The staff were talking with each other most of the time while I was there ... in another language. I found this rude. I was nicked with the file several times and my nail technician actually got up while I was in the middle of getting my nails done, went to get the phone, made a call and was talking to someone! They also tried to push other services (pedicure, eyebrow waxing) on me several times. They do have good hours and average prices and lots of walk-in availability. Pros: Lots of parking, Walk-in availability Cons: , Pushy more
