Best

We were invited to a birthday party for a friends daughter. Everything was so wonderful - the atmosphere, the food, the service, the ambiance, the history, the pictures on the wal...

Worst

I went to the Maggianos in King of Prussia. The building is real nice, but our food and service were sub par.

salt palace 1/9/2003

The meal I ate at the Maggiano's near the convention center had to be one of the saltiest of my life. My lips were chapping midway into the meal! In general I'm a salt-lover, but this was entirely too much. The Dallas Maggiano's is great and I was hoping this one would be, as well. more

pleasE!!!! 12/12/2002

All the great italian restaurants in South Philly & a chain restaurant makes this list? gimme a break....this is kethup & noodles compared to great institutions like Marra's, Ralph's, La Vigna, Fredericks, Popi's, Macaroni's & Gregorio's in the northeast. I wouldnt even recommend this to a tourist, cause its not real Philly Italian! Cons: chain restaurant more

All hype, but no hope 11/13/2002

My in-laws and I ate at the Center City location. They are very Italian. First, how can an Italian restaurant not have Italian bread? Who dips rye in olive oil? The food was competent, but not great. The service was dull and uninterested (it would have been nice to be checked on). The food was very reasonably priced, and the soup was great. If you want real Italian food, go to Ralphs, Gnocchi, or L'Angelo. It's not that bad at Maggianos, but there are so many better places. Pros: Inexpensive, Large portions Cons: Bland food, Expensive drinks, Poor service more

I loved it back home, I love it here 10/11/2002

I'm from Virginia, and was elated to find out a Maggiano's was opening here. I don't go as much now, but last year my boyfriend and I ate there once a week. The service is great, and the food is even better-surprising for a chain restaurant! more

The McDonalds of Italian 9/30/2002

You have got to be kidding me with this! How can you list a restaurant that has one in evey city. Every time I have been to one the food is always bland and mass produced. There is no love behind the food. more

Come Hungry 9/25/2002

Nice atmosphere, good food, extra large portions, good prices. Just a little too noisy due to accoustics. Sometimes hard to hear others in your party. Pros: Portions are huge, Food is good, Parking not a problem Cons: Noise Level, Long wait w/o reserv. more

very very good 8/26/2002

we were impressed with the premises which gave us a sense of dining in the old country. The management was very courteous and the wait person was very helpful in explaining the menu and the best way to order. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Top it off our left overs were neatly packed in containers which instructions on how to heat and serve. Three cheers. more

Best of Phila for a reason 8/17/2002

Everything about this restaurant makes it stand above the rest. The ambiance is comfortable, but not sloppy. The serving staff is down to earth and friendly. The FOOD IS AMAZING! I found out they make EVERYTHING from scratch on a DAILY basis! Where do you see that now-a-days?! Also the portions really make an already great deal, too much to belive. When they say they are ""abundant"" portions, listen to them! Pros: Ambiance, Value, Banquets more

nice place, ok food 8/11/2002

Big Eats on Little Budget 7/26/2002

Any restaurant that offers you a warning as to how huge the portions are deserves some serious recognition. If you want great Italian food for under $20 and want to walk out with left-overs in an adorable mini-shopping bag, the Maggiano's is the place. By the way, the huge hunky desserts, mainly the Tiramisu--DA BOMB!!! Pros: Huge Portions, Great Service, Nice Ambience Cons: Crowded more

EXCELLENT Top Notch Dinning 5/27/2002

This is one of the best Italian restaurants that I have had the pleasure of eating in. The food is EXCELLENT, the wait staff is EXCELLENT and the atmosphere is EXCELLENT. Need I say more more

Wow,Wow and Wow 5/25/2002

My girl and I who from the Atlantic City shore took a trip up to Philadephia to do a little shoping at the Gallary came across this great restaurant. Maggiano's offers very large portions of for a very reasonable price.($40.00 a couple average) I would suggest Maggiano's to anybody who loves the taste of Italy. I'll be sure to come back again. Also the waiter Geri was very professional and pratice great service. Pros: Inexpensive, Romantic more
