Best

Have eaten here three times and have not been disappointed in anything. The flatbreads are awesome. They look so simple, but both of the ones I have eaten have been fantastic. ...

Worst

I took a group of potential employees for a nice, but casual dinner on a Tuesday evening. I have been told good things about Maggiano's but personally wasn't all that impressed. ...

Good Stuff! 11/11/2002

Good stuff! Angel Hair was very delicious! Tiramisu is a definite must for dessert! Pros: Romantic Lighting, Family Style Dining Cons: Noisy more

PERFECT 11/8/2002

I was giddy as a school girl about taking a date out, not to mention taking a date to a restaurant I had never been to. All my fears were settled as i was signing up for the ample waiting list. The place was excellent. Word fo Warning: Be careful what you order and HOW MUCH is there. I was surprised when my meal came out 3 sizes larger than I expected! Pros: Magnificent food!, Friendly waitstaff Cons: Get there early! more

Fantastico! 10/17/2002

Maggiano's did NOT disappoint! After driving by it several times, I figured it was high time I check this place out. My date and I had a fantastic dining experience. The portions were more than filling. We ordered the 1/2 order Caesar Salad and between the two of us, could barely finish it! The Chicken and Spinich Mannicotti was perfect, the Tiramisu was divine and the wine complimented dinner wonderfully. The service was pleasant and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. more

Only the best 10/4/2002

Maggiano's has some of the best italian food that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The family size portions make an easy choice with large groups, or to split amongst just a few. The salads are phenominal as was the service. A definite must! Pros: large portions, large variety more

I'll be back 9/30/2002

I took 3 guests to dinner and we were very impressed with the food and the service. My only issue was that we sat on the patio and the windows in the area were being washed and it was quite loud and annoying to deal with during dinner. This will not deter future visits as both times I have eaten here the food was exceptional. more

loads of bad food 9/29/2002

Hungary for canned food? Here is your place. Lots of it for the bargain glut hunter. Have no taste buds? Here is your place. Pros: big, noisey, dull food Cons: big, noisey, terrible dull food more

Valid alternative 9/24/2002

I would never have eaten here had it not been for a recent flash flood that had my car stuck in a parking garage near the restaurant. Service was excellent. Huge portions at huge prices for Southern Italian fare. I did enjoy the Tiramisu. Yum! more

Great Food, Large Portions! 9/22/2002

I love Italian food! Others have told me that this wasn't authentic Italian food. And it's not, but very close. Great to take a herd of colleagues who love to eat, as the portions are huge. If you've never been there, I would recommend order a half portion of pastas if you plan on eating a salad or appetizer. The half order of salad(s) on the menu serves about 2-3 people depending on appetite. The mussels there are wonderful! Haven't found a place in Houston that serves really good mussels italian style w/tomato sauce & beans (ask for light on the beans since they tend to put alot in the dish). The also make really good minestrone soup and wonderful lasagna. Everytime I've been there I have been seated promptly (luck). However there is usually a wait about 30-45 mins unless you have advance reservations even at lunch. more

dissapointment 9/20/2002

Cute atmosphere, but I would not call this Italian food. Dissapointed with the quality of food. There are better places to eat in town! more

Unimaginative Food 9/18/2002

I'm not Italian but I adore pasta in great portions and this is definetely the place for you to dine if you share my passion for pasta. I advise you to come prepared for the enormous portion of food you will receive, because half of an order will still be twice as much. Come casual or come dressed, just come eat pasta at it's best. Pros: Inexpensive, Great parking Cons: Lengthy wait time more

finally! 9/8/2002

I've been looking for the best Italian place to eat, and nothing comes close to Maggiano's. Not only is the pasta and food incredible, but the prices are decent, the portions are huge (and that's an understatement), service is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. Perfect for any occasion, you can go dressed up or down. The days of pasta co. and spaghetti warehouse are over. Pros: service, food, atmosphere Cons: occasional wait, slightly limited menu more

Bravo Maggianos! 8/30/2002

When I think of Maggianos, two italian phrases come to mind: ""molto molto"" and ""piu economico."" Translated, you get lots of food, for very few dollars. One of the previous posts inferred that this place is expensive, but its not. It happens to be one of the best deals in Houston. Great quality food, excellent service and portions so big that three can share a plate. The linquini chicken pesto w/ pinenuts is incredible! I felt like I was back on the Italian Riviera. Family style is the way to go . . I only hope that other resteraunts catch on. Buon appetito! Pros: large portions, cozy atmosphere, best value in town Cons: often crowded, commercial location, a tad dark more

worth the hype 8/16/2002

Lasagna! Just get it and you'll understand. A trip here can get expensive, but it's damn good. more

High Class Pastas 8/15/2002

Maggiano's provides a pleasant and comfortable environment for lunch, dinner or just drinks at the bar. John Kinch, the General Manager, is attentive to his customers needs and has the most professional and courteous staff in Houston. I highly recommend taking your friends, family and business associates for meal you won't forget! Pros: Fast Service, Friendly Environment, Professional staff more

Outstanding 8/15/2002

Superb dining! The management and staff are absolutely wonderful. The best dining experience I have had in Houston in over 5 years! more

Livorno eats 8/13/2002

I frequent Maggiano's on a regular bases with friends and clients. I enjoy bringing clients to the resturant because the people are friendly and the service for the most part is very good. Plus they know me very well there and it's nice when you walk in they always greet you with a smile and remember who I am. Oh and the young man who parks the cars is also very nice and friendly always great you with a kind smile. more

Bestreason for houston 8/8/2002

I just loved the way the staff made you feel at home. The food was outstanding and there was so much of it!!I could have sat there all night. I was very excited when the manager took the time to introduce himself and find out if we were enjoying ourselves. When all of the desserts came out, I thought I went to haven. I would recommend to everyone to go to Maggiano's. Great food, Great People Great time Pros: incredible food, great staff, very fun more

Excellent all around! 8/6/2002

A group of friends went to celebrate a birthday before heading out on the town. The staff was on top of things, we were seated according to our reservation promptly. Make note - the 1/2 portions are enough for two ladies to share. The only bad thing I can come up with is that we ended up with a lot of food. Prices were great, we all had a great time and great food. Be sure to make a reservation - the wait otherwise seemed long. Pros: Great for a group, Excellent Food, Inexpensive Cons: Huge portions???, Parking more

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING 8/4/2002

This is the best Italian place ever. It looks like it would be really expensive, but the prices were amazing! The food was incredible. The service and atmosphere were perfect as well. I am not from there, but think about eating there whenever I am not! You won't be disapointed. It would be the best place if you really want good food and to enjoy yourself. Pros: Environment, Reasonable Prices, amazing food more
