Welcome to Madsion at Stone Creek where they decide to tear up the balcony of the apartment right next to you with jackhammers and sledgehammers at 8am with no advance warning. This is a place where the whole apartment shakes when people slam their doors and walk up and down the stairs, and when neighbors slam cabinets, imagine the bed shaking from a jackhammer 20 feet away at 8am....luckily also on my day off. I thought we having an earthquake in Texas. Then I heard the noises and the workers yelling over the noise, again at 8am, so I looked out my window and saw what they were up to. When asking at the office, I was told ""It needed to be done"", which is fine but how about a notice' Put a not eon our doors' I was told ""We'll mention it to corporate""....well how about using common sense. They also forgot to mention that they were doing one on the other side the next day, so joy of joys, both my days off were marred by this at 8am. Add this to the fact that when I signed my lease, I was told point blank by the guy in the office ""We haven't raised anyone's rent in years and we even give loyalty bonuses at lease renewal"", only to find that had miraculously been discontinued just before my lease renewal, and they tried to jack it up by over $100 a month. Then we had an issue with the water bills. Apparently the city claimed they had made some mistake in the billing (which we could of course not talk to them to confirm since the company is on the bill and not us). So one day we get our water bills in the mail and they are DOUBLE. The company knew they were going to do this, but didn't give us a heads up' Seems strange, doesn't it' Just expected us not to notice a doubled bill' Then all I got was a runaround when trying to get some kind of proof, both from the office and corporate, and never did get to see a resolution, but have to keep paying double bills for the next 9 months. Don't get me started on the thin walls. You can hear everything your shared wall neighbors do. I can hear when mine turns on their shower. And upstairs neighbors, you would think they were bowling, even when just walking. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! DO NOT LIVE IN ANY NORTHLAND PROPERTY!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR TENANTS!!! THEY EXPECT YOU TO STAY HERE AFTER THEY JACK UP YOUR RENT AND PUT YOU THROUGH ALL THE GARBAGE BECAUE IT'S CONVENIENT!! UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS WHAT MOST PEOPLE SEE AS IMPORTANT. I have been here for two years, which is thankfully almost over, and the only good things I can say is that Doree in the office has always been really nice and the maintenance staff is pretty good. more
