Best

I really enjoyed the food...the multiple kinds of meat...oh man well I am not a meat eater and man do I eat like there is no tomorrow.

Worst

Disappointing! The meat was not that tender & mediocre in quality. They didn't offer the selection advertised. When the meat started coming around; we asked for for the lam...

Great food, swanky digs 1/12/2006

Had a great time with out of town guests. Food was terrific! more

SAVING MONEY IS THEIR MAIN GOAL!!! 1/8/2006

Even thought they don't have the regular sized red wine glass, they pour less than half of a smaller glass anyways. I could get over it, as long as the service and food were good, wich didn't happen. There is no hostess at the place so our waitress kept walking around with the cordless phone on her, and she was the only server at the place. So, no chances for her to come back to our table again. The salad bar was really poor, few options, hot dishes, horrible ""1 star Las Vegas buffet"" style, they even had spaguetti with meat sauce as an option, eww. Meats? tasteless, hard ""filet mignon""but we ate anyways, because it was rare when they came with the so-called all you can eat barbecue. Oh, no restrooms inside(!!!) For $30 just for the meal????Come on!!!!!We have way better options in LA. And ""Hello!"" in better locations... Pros: easy parking, nice pictures Cons: food, service, location more

Where's the meat? 10/31/2005

Disappointing! The meat was not that tender & mediocre in quality. They didn't offer the selection advertised. When the meat started coming around; we asked for for the lamb & were told they didn't have any that night. Then we asked about the top sirloin and were at first told that it would take 10 minutes. However, it NEVER CAME at all! (They didn't have Top Sirloin either that evening.) The salad bar was nice...included hearts of palm & fresh asparagus. However everything had a slight dank ""refrigerator"" taste, which personally ruined the food for me. The best thing was the rich & creamy ""mashed yucca"" ...I suspect that it was made with whipping cream? All in all...not at all worth the money! ($29.95 person...not including drinks or dessert.) Next time I'll try the Brazilian Restaurant in Burbank! (I will however try to duplicate the mashed yucca recipe at home?) Pros: great mashed yucca, good black beans Cons: refrigerator taste, low quality meat more

The power of meat! 9/29/2005

Im not a big meat eater, in fact, Im somewhat of a half-ass vegetarian because Im ALWAYS ordering pasta or chicken, but when I went to M-Grill the first time for a birthday dinner, I was transformed into a born again carnivorous. The salad bar filled with rice, pasta, grilled veggies, fried bananas, stews, and various salads was a great start to what the main course would be about. As the servers glide around the trendy decorated restaurant with platters of delectable meats, chickens, porks, and sausages, my mouth watered as each piece of meat was being carved onto my plate. Their cheese bread is sinful and just like potato chips, no one can eat just one, two, three, or All in all, the selection of meats, salads, appetizers, drinks, mixed with the exquisite ambiance and dazzling service made the whole dinning experience more than just fulfilling but extremely satisfying. Pros: Great Food, Free Parking, Awesome Decor more

It's ok 9/12/2005

The food is ok, if a bit bland. After certain point everything started to taste like what preceded it. Don't know if it was the seasoning or the cooking method, but my entire party shared this view. The place is decorated nicely but its location on the second story of the wilshire bank building leaves alot to be desired. Maybe the difficulty in finding it is supposed to increase your appetite. I enjoyed the korean liquor soju though. All in all, ok place, I enjoyed the salad bar more than the actual meat which isn't a good thing. Did like the hot section, which features various dishes like fried bananas, stews, and rice, which is something i hadn't seen at other brazilian bbq places before. I can't recommend it, but if you wanted to try it I wouldn't feel too guilty for not stopping you. A 6 out of 10. Pros: Soju, Hot section Cons: Location, Bland meat more

Best deal in LA 7/21/2005

Incredible food with exceptional service. great ambiance and decor. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food and service. free valet parking a definate plus Pros: food, service, ambiance Cons: nothing more

great place for brazilian food 7/6/2005

I ate here several months ago with some friends and all I have to say is that this place is GREAT. The selection of meats were juicy and flavorful. the buffet dishes were also quite tasty although I would save your stomach for the many different meat that they carry. The servers were quite hospitible and friendly. I am definitely going back again soon and hope to get stuffed in no time. Pros: food, ambience, service Cons: a little pricey more

Mmmmmm Grill!!! 7/2/2005

Eating Brazilian in the middle of Korean Town? Thats right. GREAT DEAL for what youre getting. Greatly priced for the amount of meat theyre serving you. On top of deliciously marinated, the meats just keep coming and coming and coming until youre too full to say 1 more. Literally, eat til you drop. The little cheese ball is also great. more

Excellent! 6/6/2005

I chose M Grill for a recent company dinner because it was close to the hotel we were staying at. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that not only was it convenient, but that it had a wonderful buffet (great salads and side dishes), excellent barbeque, and a prompt and very courteous wait and host staff. The mashed yucca and garlic rice on the buffet line were superb, and the bacon-wrapped filet mignon and sausage were delicious. My co-workers left stuffed and happy, and many of us plan to return for another meal when we are back in the Los Angeles area. I would definitely plan another group dinner here as well. The staff was very helpful in accommodating our large group, and never once did we feel rushed or overlooked. Pros: Excellent Value, Attentive wait staff, Classy atmosphere Cons: Hard to Find more

Great food and great service 6/5/2005

I looked over some reviews before eating at M Grill, and was scared by a couple of reviewers who claimed that they left hungry. I should not have worried. The service simply could not have been better. The chefs constantly bring food - they must have brought one of each dish (about a dozen varieties) in less than half an hour. Then, they even asked us what specific dish we would like more of and promptly brought that as well. The food was great - especially the chicken thighs, top sirloin, and sliced sausage. It is a little pricey at $26.99 per person, but you can get your money's worth if you're a big eater. On Mon - Thurs, there is a salad bar (with some hot food items) option for about half the price. But for you meat-eaters out there, you will not be disappointed. Pros: Great food, Great service Cons: Price more

Tender/Juicy meat w/ friendly service (pt 2) 5/31/2005

Food: The puff-looking cheese bread is a great appetizer. Soft/chewy when served warm. The BEEF RIBS (the cube looking meat) is the best, very tender and taste is rich and you will want more of this. The CHICKEN is also very tender/juicy. Best chicken I have tasted even though I am coming from a Chinese background--chicken is one of our primary dish. My only complain is that they don't offer too many choices of meat and that some meat items are rather ""dry"" in texture. The choices at the salad bar for cold and hot food items is also minimal but we are going there for the BBQ meat. The place is well ventilated and you won't walk out smelling like a smoked chicken. And you don't have to worry about dry cleaning your coat, however, it would be best left in the car. Will try Picanha next. more

Brazilian in the heart of Koreatown 4/7/2005

Who would have imagined a good Brazilian churasco in the heart of Koreatown? Not me, says I. I had lunch here with some office mates today and enjoyed the buffet, as well as a few preferred cuts of beef and sausage. The lunch crowd was buzzing. The restaurant is rather small, but the tables are not crowded at all. You can get to and from the buffet very easily without bumping other diners. The staff were very pleasant, but very busy with the lunch crowd. Definitely worth a try for lunch or dinner. Pros: Friendly staff more

Great value 3/24/2005

It's hidden away on the second floor of the building but a great find. The food was served promptly and often. The service is good. It's not a big place but the quality of the food makes up for the lack of size. It's cozy and quiet. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend. Pros: Service more

Meatlovers! One steak? Try a dozen!!! 3/18/2005

My friends and I went for dinner and we were delighted! Why would you go to a restaurant and have one piece of steak, when for the same price you can have a dozen? Not only that, if you ask your server for a particular one type of meat, it keeps coming until you say stop! The great thing about M grill is that the meat is fresh at all times, from the minute you start your meal until you're ready for desserts. The salad bar is also fantastic, but it's not a place to go if you're into seafood. Would you go to a sushi restaurant and ask for steak? I recommend the chicken, sausages, top sirloin cap, and beef ribs, but everything else is good, even the cheese bread! Pros: meat variety, salad bar, ambience Cons: hard to find, no full bar, small more

Slow service, good food 3/7/2005

If you're looking for high end brazilian food, this is the place to go. Service was extremely slow though and we waited 30 minutes for our lunch. They have a lunch special with an amazing steak that I would definitely recommend. Also have great drinks! more

Class without pretention! 3/5/2005

Great ambiance...The kind of place that looks classy - is classy, but we weren't looked down on for casual attire. Staff was great - pleasant and quick to offer new selections from the kitchen. I'm not sure how anyone could leave hungry - it's an all you can eat resturant! If you're a meat lover - this is heaven. Try the bacon wrapped filet mignon, it's amazing. Pros: Food, Service, Decor Cons: Trick to find entranc more

Viva Brazilian BBQ 3/1/2005

Definitely the best Brazilian BBQ around. I've been to other Brazilian BBQ places, but none as nice as M Grill. You can actually bring a date here unlike the other hole in the wall places. Plus M Grill in central located unlike the other Brazilian places that are located in the outskits of LA. However, this place is difficult to find, but well worth looking for. Though it may appear pricy, you definitely get your money's worth, especially when comparing to a typical steak or bbq dinner...I spend more money going to Tony Romas. Pros: delicious, filling, good ambiance Cons: hard to find, average service more

Very Disappointed 12/18/2004

We went in a party of 7 and none of us left full. We all wanted to try the variety so took very small portions when the waiter first came by. Afterwards when we decided which we liked, the waiter stopped coming by and the owner lied about running out of the item we were looking for since we noticed they began cooking it again as we were leaving. The decor was nice and the food was okay, but very disappointed at the portions for an all-you-can-eat, especially for the ridiculous price. Next time, Im gong to try another similar Brazilian Grill my friend recommended with better service and variety in Puente Hills Mall instead. Pros: BBQ Food, Decor, Sodas Cons: , Food Quantity more

For a buffet, how did I leave hungry?! 12/17/2004

Decided to host a party here, based on the high reviews and photos of the very nice decor. The place really is as nice as it looks and the food is rather unique and tasty. However, for a buffet, I find it completely unacceptable that I actually left hungry! Service was good to start at the beginning of the night and went completely downhill after. After 20 minutes or so, it was nearly impossible to get more food and requests for more Churrascaria (the prime attraction here) were ignored! After a while even the waiters were getting annoyed with requests for refills on drinks. So without anymore food and no refills on drinks everyone in our party couldnt help but feel very disappointed with the service and leaving hungry. For the high price, I cant justify or recommend this place. Pros: Food, Decor Cons: , Not full after buffet more

Downtown Churrascaria 12/12/2004

My friends to me here for my birthday. Wonderful food, ambience and service. The owner came out and toasted my birthday with a bottle of JW Blue! I recommend the pasteles, brazilian stroganoff, feijoada of course; can't go wrong with the garlic picanha, tri-tip, and skirt steak. After dinner, get a table across the street at Zip for drinks. Pros: sumptuous food, sleek decor, attentive waitstaff more

  • The interior of this modern Brazilian-style eatery is defined by a collection of black-and-white montages of street scenes, dancers and famous soccer players. Curved booths cater to larger parties and south-of-the-equator beats keep the vibe lively. Offerings include traditional dishes such as pastel (an empanada-style starter) and the Coxinha de Frago (dough stuffed with chicken and special cream cheese). There's also numerous steakhouse-style entrees--top sirloin, filet mignon, porterhouse--as well as a large all-you-can-eat salad bar and churrasco (meat rotation) that comes around to the tables.
