Perfect for kids! 5/25/2012

This museum is the BEST place for children to learn in the state. The exhibits are very fun, and my two girls almost cried when I said we were to leave. The area is beautiful in Manchester, and a pretty lake is behind the museum. The animals in the museum were very cute! Give this place a try you will be happy you did! more

A Great Place for a Day Trip 7/6/2011

Good: The classes keep the kids (from 2-12 years) entertained and educated, the exhibits are well thought out and fun, their nature center is exquisite, and their events (concerts, Farm Day, field trips, etc.) are too fun to pass up. This place offers everything and it's great!. Bad: It sucks that they have such a small space to work with, but they really make the best of it.. Improvements: I'd like to see the museum offer more programming, whether it's a daily storytime or a rotating weekly exhibit in their recreational room.. Other: All in all, a great place for a small excursion.. more

Lutz Children's Museum 12/31/2005

The Lutz Children's Museum is home to the state's largest animal rehabilitation facility east of the Connecticut River. While every effort is made to return animals to their natural environment whenever possible, they keep them if the animal can not return to the wild. It is the home of the groundhog who is the state's official prognosticator of the status of spring each February 2. Each day one of the museum's animal handlers presents a short program about one animal. The museum's has presentations, performances, literacy and homeschooling programs, art show openings, workshops and classes for pre-schoolers. Hours: The museum is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. Admission: Admission is $4 per person, or purchase a membership and receive unlimited admission and discounts on classes and performances. Membership is $40 for families. more

A wonderfull place to spend the day 8/4/2005

The Lutz is a great place to spend the day with children of any age. There are three rooms. The first has large vehicles the kids can play on. It also has a train set. The second room has many different exhibits all about the five senses. The final is the animal room which has just been redone and has a variety of wonderful critters. The staff is warm and knowledgable. The inexpensive classes are a must, but be sure to register right away as they fill very fast. more
